Connection to friend kicks me off Xbox Live.

I'm not entirely sure if this is the right place for this problem, so if it is not please direct me to the proper place.

Whenever I try to stay connected to one of my friends, it usually disconnects me from the xbox party, the game I was connected to, and then shortly after kicks me off xbox live. I've also noticed that when this occurs, I'll see that I have also gotten
disconnected from programs on my computer, such as Steam. This only happens with the one specific person and I need help to find out why. I've already tried port forwarding, putting my settings to uPnP, and restarting my gateway modem. This happens on both
X360 and X1. My Nat Type was also stuck on strict, and when I had gotten it to moderate i thought it was fixed, but it still disconnected. So if anyone could also find anyway for me to get NAT to open too, that would also be great.

Can't be signed in and connected to Xbox live at the same time

I can't get logged/signed into my account and connected to xbox live at the same time. It just started tonight. If I do a network connection test it logs me out, and THEN I'm connected to xbox live. But if I try to log into my profie/account it kicks me
off of my live connection!

 

World of Tanks connection issues

When i play WoT it periodically freezes and kicks me out of the game, i get about 3 games in before it kicks me. When it does it says "A connection to xbox live is required to play the game. Please reconnect to xbox live to continue." WoT is the only game
that it kicks me off out the game, all other games work fine. This is just really frustrating, any help would be appreciated.

Sorry to hear about the disconnection issues! If you could provide us the brand and model of your gateway modem, along with any other networking hardware, we could try to help narrow down the issue for you. Most gateways don't support multiple consoles,
and this may be the cause of the strict NAT.

The model I had said in the reply, it is a Motorola Surfboard Wireless Cable Modem Gateway, and the model is SBG6580. That is all I have and is what I use to connect my xbox to live, I've tried connecting with and without an ethernet cable. I also only have
one xbox on at a time, if that makes any difference.

 

Through our experience, this device does not support multiple consoles. You can refer to

this page here for more information. Even if one is off and the other is on, the gateway will still look for the original console to give prioritization for the ports. I would recommend contacting your ISP to get a standalone modem and possibly purchasing
a separate router. This will be your best bet to get open NAT on both consoles. You can check out our

Ok, thank you. I disconnected the power plug from one when trying to play on the other and it seemed to fix it for now if not permanently.

 

Even with having the xbox one completely disconnected and nothing plugged into it, the issue still continues when trying to play on the 360, any other suggestions? I'm unable to obtain a standalone modem and a separate router at the current moment.

 

Hey there SensibleSauce!

So until you obtain a router and a modem, you will have to force the gateway to re-prioritize the NAT for your Xbox console of choice. To do that, you must power cycle the gateway and leave it unplugged for 5 minutes. While that is unplugged, disconnect
both Xbox consoles from your home network completely. When about 5 minutes go by while the gateway is unplugged, plug it back in and have your desired console connect first. That method helps in most cases, and I recommend you trying that out!

It appears to still be happening, but I think it may also be changing people or happening more frequently.

 

Unfortunately at this point, in order to improve your game play experience and open up your NAT, I recommend acquiring a new router and modem. If you continue to have issues when you get set up, post back and let us know so we can help you get set up!

 

Recently when I had checked, my xbox one had told me my NAT was open now and it is still continuing. Any chance that it isn't both the xboxes and is possibly something else?

 

As suggested earlier, I still recommend replacing your gateway device. With gateways, even if your Xbox One says 'open', it can still be strict or moderate due to invisible NAT. Unfortunately, it all boils down to the gateway device being used is not compatible
with multiple console support.
