Connection & storage

Hi,

When I start the console, it promts me for the last update. I can't connect with xbox-live without the update. But as I try this, it says I have not enough storage-space. There is plenty of space, however.

I tried several solutions, wich I read here at the forum:

- clear the cache. Did'nt work, because the HD needed formatting.

- I tried to format, but that did'nt work. It simply stopped and didn't format.

- I tried to plug in a 16-GB USB (correctly formatted), in order to obtain disc space. The USB showed up, but the same message came: can't update while short on storage.

What to do? I suppose my HD died? And if I need another HD, can I retrieve the games I bought online and where installed on the console? I know I lost my achievements and all, but I wonder if my purchase history is also gone.

Can't recover account?

AS you tried different gamertags, storage devices, direct & different connections, try to recover it on a friend's console, then move it back to your console by a usb stick.

 

What should I look for in Xbox One external hard drive?

That's a really good deal and should solve all of my storage woes. Is it faster than internal?

Your purchase history can't be erased because is recorded in your profile account. If you need to change the HDD do it and redowload again the games you purchased from your download history.
