    Connection locks up until hard reset


    In the last week or so, I've had an issue where when I'm playing online games, I will get knocked out of the game multiple times. Normally, I can just sign back in but at least once a night, I will get completely kicked from the internet, where the can't
    connect to xbox live pops up on the main screen. Catch is, my xbox live will go down permanently until I fix it as described below. When I go to networking I see:

    • Current Network Status
    • Wireless
    • Nat: Open
    • Status: Unknown
    I can go to "test network connection" and have went through all the steps (turn router off for 30 seconds, add MAC address to router, etc.). The only thing that works and the only way to reset this is to hard reset my system and then "connect to a network"
    and redo my wifi password. Note, when I just try to do the connect to a network before doing a hard reset from the power menu, I type in my password and it says my SSID/password aren't correct and try again (I'm typing my password in correctly,
    so it has something to do with my xbox one locking up my wireless).

    Anyone have this issue? I've looked on the forums but don't see anything but the normal 6 steps to fix it. I don't like wasting 15-20 mins doing a hard reset, setting up my network again, signing into xbox live, and finally loading game every night as I
    don't get to play much as is

    hold the power on the console until it fully shuts off do not let go.
    this will do a hard reset and will take a longer to boot up for the first time after a hard reset. This should fix you problem

    Try signing in and out, disconnecting/connecting Internet, hard reset.

    No, not FACTORY RESET. Hard reset. It like turning off a phone fully, instead of locking the screen. Hard resetting fixes most game booting problems. Connecting to internet problems. MINSZ BAKAAAAAAAAAAAA

    Quite often its the game that causes the locking up....for me Skyrim and especially Batman Arkham City will lock my console up, annoying as hardware, especially ones with Harddrives dont like being hard reset too often

    I've Also experienced the console lock up with "something went wrong please try again" The best solution I have found is to press ok and double tap the home button again until the message re-appears. On the 3rd try it will unlock and show your guide open
    on the left hand side.. It takes 3 attempts after it locks up on the first try.. Very annoying but that solution has worked best for me. Power cycles & hard resets are USELESS for that matter as well.

    cant update the controller

    i connected the headset to the first one updating (just because it was already connected) but didnt on the 2nd controller...they both updated just fine. I did do a hard reset on the system before i updated the controllers...try holding down the power button
    on front of the console until it turns off and then restart the system to hard reset it.
