Connection issues

Started getting connection on my console a couple of weeks ago and they have got worse to the point it is unusable on the net. Basically it will sign in fine then about 2 or 3 minutes into a game it disconnects from XBox live thus kicking me from
the game in progress (CoD:AW or WoT). If I hit the centre button and sign back in it may let me carry on a while before repeating or it may kick me out a few seconds after re-connecting,. I can do this half a dozen times then suddenly I get a "Can't connect"
error message come up with a red "X" between the console and the local network. The diagnosis message then reads either "No network hardware found" or "ICMH errors", If I then delete the system content cache and re-run the network test all is fine for a
while.

Is this a fault with the console or can something be adjusted in the settings to overcome this?? It is hard-cabled to a Virgin Media superhub 2.

Update!

With the ethernet cable plugged I experienced no disconnections. I think that the problem is with my flatemates xbox as i've used the wifi adapter at home on my own xbox without problems. I Think i'll just buy a 15m ethernet cable, dont think they are too
expensive.

It's most likely caused by that moderate NAT you say is showing up. You'll need to either port-forward the necessary ports for Xbox LIVE to your Xbox console, or you'll need to put your Xbox in your router's DMZ.
