Connection issues are costing me my sanity

Did you also make sure that your console has been assigned the same IP that you've added as a static IP under
Connected Devices?

I just want to make sure you haven't configured the other way around, static IP settings on your console that is. Your console's network settings should be set to obtain IP configuration automatic.

I know you've alrady tried this (to no avail), but if it's possible, try connect your console with an Ethernet Cable, just to eliminate wireless interference/issues.

You can't exactly just "add" a device apparently. I tried it many times but all it did was feed me messages saying either the mac address already existed, the ip is in the DHCP pool, or that the ip is in use. Changed the ip i wanted to make static for my
xbox as a device at least 10 times and no avail.

So yeah I had to edit my xbox as being a static ip.

I found a more comprehensive manual, than the one provided on the Networking Hardware Information forums.

So, the option to reserve in your case, would not be made through Add Computer with Static IP, but, if your Xbox is already listed in the table of
Devices, click Edit instead. Click Static IP/Reserved IP and then click
Save.

Before you go ahead with this configuration, first make sure you restore your console's network settings to factory defaults and make sure these are set to
Automatic obtain IP information from the DHCP.

Let me know how this goes and we'll go from there.

this is happening to me and a few on my friends list is support going to address this as a problem or is it time warner cable and comcasts fault now

I think it was the Zero Configuration that did it but thank you greatly Taidara. I can actually play my 60 dollar copy of Destiny now thankfully. I feared I would have to sell it back for not being able to properly play the game. I tried out your settings
for about 3 days and it hasn't happened once. I have been playing fairly religiously as well on my time that I can.

I recommend you guys with the same problem do what I did. (assuming you have the same router), and setup a static IP for your xbox, enable zero configuration, and enable UPnP. If all three parameters are setup, reset your adaptor to factory defaults and
reconnect. Once I reset everything, I was able to play properly again. Thank you kindly Taidara

Been having the same problems, how I managed to use the "add device" button was to click the X (add to blocked devices), then hop over to the parental controls and click the X there to remove device, THEN I changed the DCHP pool to top out at 152 instead
of 252 and added device with an address of 10.0.0.182. About to fire up Destiny again and see how it works.
