    I bought a used xbox one which seems to work just fine, and I bought a brand new wireless controller with new batteries. When I press the sync button on the controller it blinks, like the internet says it should do when trying to sync. But when I press the sync button on the xbox it does nothing, the light stays solid and as far as I know it is supposed to blink when trying to sync as well. I have tried connecting it with the USB but the controller vibrates briefly then does nothing. I have tried restarting it and unplugging it but still nothing. I plugged in a keyboard to the xbox and I could navigate that way so I know the USB port works. I have tried everything and I have no idea what to do

    Update!

    With the ethernet cable plugged I experienced no disconnections. I think that the problem is with my flatemates xbox as i've used the wifi adapter at home on my own xbox without problems. I Think i'll just buy a 15m ethernet cable, dont think they are too
    expensive.

    It's most likely caused by that moderate NAT you say is showing up. You'll need to either port-forward the necessary ports for Xbox LIVE to your Xbox console, or you'll need to put your Xbox in your router's DMZ.
