  1. Connecting Xbox One Rock Band to electric drum set when drum set doesn't have Midi plug in.

I'm trying to connect my sons electric drum set to Xbox One Rock Band so he can practice, but we can't seem to figure out how to make it work. His drum instructor sent home his plug in connector but it was for Xbox 360, and his drum set has the Midi plug
and ours does not. Will the PDP Rock Band 4 Wired Legacy Adapter work?

    :)

    PS3 Guitars on XBox 360

I hope this makes sense... We have both a PS3 and an Xbox 360. On the PS3 we have the game Rock Band that uses a drum set and guitars. If I purchase a game for the Xbox 360 can it use the PS3 drum set and guitars? Do I need to purchase an adapter or will
it just plug in and work? Thank you

ION Rocker Drum Set and GHWT

    Hi,

I have the ion drum set myself and the cymbals just don't work as you describe, it's just the way it is as the ion drum set was designed specifically for Rock Band. There is nothing you can do other than use the drum pads I'm afraid.

You require both the legacy adapter AND the midi adapter that was designed for RB 3 on xbox 360. the adapter is mad by Madcatz, and they--along with PDP--make the guitars and drums for Rock Band 4 for both PS4 & Xbox. I had a problem locating a reasonably
priced RB4 band-in-a-box kit because I lost mine in a big move from Alabama to Illinois, anyways, the kit is hard to find online for less that $400-500, and local suppliers no longer carry it because Harmonix, PDP, and Madcatz stopped producing the hardware
for some reason. I am still trying to discover why this has happened, but I think it may have something to do with the fact that VR is so popular now, they want a complete re-design of hardware to massively improve the experience, but that is just internet
speculation; however, it makes sense because Guitar Hero use to be the front runner for rhythmic gaming, and just 1 absolutely horrible game release(guitar hero live), and the company has disappeared. Even their DLC that customers payed for years ago on the
older GH games are no longer available to download from your purchase history, so I think this forced Harmonix to re-think their strategy for the top-spot in rhythmic gaming without the same thing happening to them. When RB 4 first released, there were horrible
reviews, and all of a sudden, the hardware became un available in stores and Amazon, eBay and all other low life greedy dirtbags that thrive on gouging hard working Americans by means of "Supply and demand" business practices, and this took the retail price
of Harmonix Band in a box from $199.99 or $249.99 all of the way up to $1,300 from some sellers online. For that kind of money you can buy a good brand name electronic drum kit, and use it on Rock Band just like you are doing now, which leads me back to finish
my original answer. During my research on how to connect my Roland TD-11K to my PS4, I found that you require the Rockbound 3 MIDI adapter for the PS3, and if you have the XB1 version, you need the Rockbound 2 MIDI adapter for the 360 AND you need the legacy
adapter because you will not get all of the trigger mapping functionality if you do not have both. the MIDI adapter can be found on Amazon for 39.99 currently. I hope this helps. I know you posted months ago, and you probably already figured this out, but

  5. And yes, the 360 MIDI adapter his instructor gave him will work, but again, you do need the legacy adapter as well depending what module your drum set has to obtain full functionality.

    Password protect purchases?

I had my rock band drums plugged in and when my dad came round my house, he saw them and started thrashing out a drum solo. I then noticed my xbox light was on, turned on the tv to find that he has only gone and bought an arcade game. Duh!
