    Connecting Xbox app to Xbox One


    Hello,

    I see on the Xbox app, there is an icon that appears to allow to connect to my Xbox One. When I tap on it, it states, "Looks like you haven't set up a console here yet.", followed by a "Get Started" button below.

    When I click on the "Get Started" button, I have two options, either setup a new console, or add an existing console. If I click on "Setup a new console" it's asking for a code that appears on my television. There is none.

    When I click on "Add an existing console", it asks me to turn on my Xbox One and sign into my account. Even when it is on and I am signed in, my only option on the app is cancel the setup process.

    I actually have two questions regarding the above issue. First, does anyone know a work around? Second, would this allow me to control the blu ray/DVD functions on my Xbox One (Play/Pause/Rewind, etc)?

    You can stream games from the Xbox One to PC using the Xbox app on your PC. It can be a wired Ethernet connection or a wireless connection. Xbox app connects your PC with your Xbox One.

    Yeah, Phoenix_Reins is correct with this, the Xbox console companion app only works with the Xbox One. There is no app that connects to the Xbox 360.

    Hi Dalton,

    Thanks for your update. Have you checked your Xbox App connectivity settings on your Xbox One? These settings affect usability of remote apps for Mobile and Windows 10 Devices. To access them, visit
    Settings>Preferences>Xbox app connectivity on your Xbox One. There you would want to enable connectivity for devices that are signed into a profile on your console or any device with the Xbox app.
