Media Center and XBOX wont work - windows 7

My PC is Windows 7 Home Edition, My Xbox and PC are both on a wireless connection, I managed to connect the Media Center just fine, The way I did this is following the step by step instructions on connecting them together. Please double check these instructions
and see if you missed a step or maybe by mistake did something wrong.

First to be on the safe side do this.

    •Click Start, Windows Media Center.

    •Select Task, Settings.

    •Select Extender.

•Select your Xbox 360 Media Center Extender.

    •Select Uninstall.

If you cant find the Xbox 360 Media Center Extender then you may not have it installed yet. After checking this step please try the following.

Gather Setup Key from Xbox 360

•Press the Media Center Start button on the remote or go to My Xbox, then select Windows Media Center.

•Advance through the on-screen instructions to obtain the 8-digit Media Center Setup Key. Write this key down.

    Add Extender

•At the Windows Vista or Windows 7 Media Center PC, launch Windows Media Center. Select Start, Windows Media Center.

    •Select Tasks, Add Extender.

•When prompted, provide the 8-digit setup key you received from your Xbox 360.

    •Complete the Extender setup.

This is the exact way that I have installed the media center using a Wireless connection to both systems and having Windows 7. I am however not sure if network discovery has anything to do with this on your PC.

How Do I Remove This Unknown PC So I Can Connect Mine To It

    Hi MR FANBOi,

Are you trying to connect your PC via the System Video Player app or are you trying to set up a Windows Media Center connection? If you see the PC listed in your System Media Player app, you can add other PC's to it but you can not disable one from showing
unless you have that PC in the description. But if you are looking for the most easy and efficient way to stream media from the PC to the Xbox, the Windows Media Center Extender is the way to go with these easy steps over

    here
. Have you tried that out? Let us know. Thanks!

    Media centre play back blurry

Lestat573, is correct. The Windows Media Center or any Media Sharing over a Private Network has absolutely nothing to do with any Internet Connection.

In short, I could use no Internet Connection, ISP or Modem and I will still be able to Share Media on my own Private Network (PC/ Xbox 360) just fine. A Private Network or the quality of it has nothing to do with any Internet Connection. It (Private Network)
is stand-alone and is not dependent in any way to any other Connection.

As for the OP's issue, it sounds more like the quality of the Original Content is poor to begin with. imo Media Center is "okay" for Video Content but it is far from the best for Quality.

Media Center is for when you're using the Xbox as a Media Center Extender, when connected to a PC running Windows Media Center. :)
