Connecting Xbox 1s controller to PC

I have connected my Xbox one S controller to my PC through a TP Link UB400 USB adapter (using CSR Bluetooth software that came with the adapter). My xbox beta, and xbox accessories apps don't seem to to recognize the controller is even connected.

Does anyone have any solutions? I've updated all software/firmware, and have tried most general methods (reconnecting/reinstalling/restarting) with no success. It was a big enough project just to get it to connect to pc in the first place.

i understand using wireless may benefit you but try using it wired to the pc and you should be good, when i connected mine to the pc is was mandatory that i used it via usb first for it to connect properly, it did then work wireless but i kept it wired
so i didnt bump into any trouble.

Why not just connect it via USB cable? Those adapters don't play well with the Xbox apps I don't think. You might have better luck with support or forums for the adapter itself.

Usually I use with cable, does your cable control recognize normally?
