Connecting two Xbox Ones to same router can't play multiplayer at the same time.

Hi,

I have spent the better part of two days hopelessly wandering the web scrolling through forums hoping to find some way to make both XB1s able to play together online. Apparently this is not a unique issue as there are plenty of forums on the topic, however
nothing that helps me. Buying a better router is not financially viable right now so if anyone can suggest a particular setup that would be awesome

Current setup:

Router - D-Link 2544N

Both Xboxes set to auto IP and DNS assignment - tried using Cat6 to router for one

Router doesn't seem to have a port triggering option

Have a 10m Cat6 cable which may be of help

ISP - iiNet

Please ask if you need info I forgot to mention Both consoles can connect to live and play games such as Warframe but co-op is impossible so probably NAT?

Can't play the same game at the same time in the same house

I just recently moved in with a buddy of mine. We both have our own Xbox One console. We can both play the same game, like Halo 5, at the same time. But once we try to play in the same lobby, it disconnects one or both of us. I've seen many comments online
about using UPnP to connect both at the same time, but he has an AT&T U-Verse router, which doesn't support that. Does anyone know of a way that we can both play the same game at the same time?

Connection probl3ms

Hi is anyone else having problems connecting to xbox live???

Been trying to connect for the last 5 hours. We have two consoles and neither are able to connect. All other devices are connecting to our wifi apart from Xbox.

Surely two consoles can't have the same problem at the same time in the same house hold!

D-Link 2544N is a Gateway (modem AND router) I don't think you will be able to get right for 2 Xboxes , you could try assigning static ip's to both , and the upnp enabled but I think you'll be just wasting time.

EDIT: I just looked at your speed test , that looks pretty slow even for ONE console , let alone 2 ....

I don't know this device. But your only solution can be to use UPnP. Only this way both consoles can get an open NAT.

Activate at your own risk. And always be sure you run the latest Firmware for your router.

Tried assigning static IP's and UPnP is always enabled, didn't do much... My internet plan *should* be ADSL 2+ but until iiNet gets their equipment running in my area that's all I've got. Is there any hardware you can suggest that may have decent UPnP functionality?

Well you can't have the same ip address in use at the same time, getting an open nat for multiple Xbox is a fine art and requires the right firmware and router, have a read here:-

You are using port triggering for both Xboxes?

That might be the problem as the port can usually only be triggered for one xbox at a time. While traffic is being routed to one xbox the other xbox will not be receiving any causing issues like lag, Although it depends on how your router handles port triggering.
My router can't trigger the same ports to two different devices at the same time. But some might.

For 2 or more Xboxes connected at the same time you really need to use UPnP.

Although this also depends on whether your router supports it properly.
