Connecting to Xbox Live with a Netgear Router

I just discovered that Netgear is the only brand not covered under the ROUTERS PAGE and since I am quite familiar with the newer models I am happy to assist those who may need it and utilize these routers. I'm certain others are also more than happy to
jump in. So feel free to post a question if you need support!

I own the Netgear Nighthawk R7000. I will not be able to guide you if you use dd-wrt though unless you know how to navigate that GUI.

I'm not finding the router you are specifying on
http://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-live/get-started/connecting/network-hardware-compatible-xbox-live. I see a NetGear WGR614v10. Are you sure this isn't it?

 

Xbox Live connection lags yet internet connection is excellent. Nat becomes Moderate

Hi, there are know issues with Virgin and Xbox live, have you tried connecting wired to the Netgear as a test to see if it still lags? As there's no point in carrying out changes if it still lags when wired to the router

I find it troubling that they are not covering a lot of the newer Asus and Netgear dual-band routers as well. So I will happily jump in and thanks for the link!
