Connecting to Xbox live via mobile hotspots

My Xbox 360 used to connect to my mobile hotspot without any problems at all, it stopped connecting via hot spot a few months ago. I am aware of the option to connect via a LAN with my windows PC, as that is what I have been forced to do to connect for so
very long now. My Xbox one on the other hand can and does connect to my hotspot without problem every single day. When I try to connect my 360 to my hotspot recently, I get an IP address error. My phone is a Samsung galaxy. I have a 4g hotspot and as I already
stated my 360 used to connect to the hot spot no problem, but suddenly stopped for no apparent reason. I feel like if the 360 used to and my Xbox one currently does without issue, then there must be some way to get my 360 to connect to my hot spot once again.
Please help, I do not like having to have my computer turned on and connected just to be on XBL. Larry hyrb/ major nelson, or anybody with an aanwser please help

    :)

  3. Xbox One playing games after the 24 hours of being offline.

I think thats if you want to play on xbox live through mobile, then yes you would need a hotspot plan. According to this, it sounds as if the one will be able to connect to a smartphone and perform the verification over mobile.

No..that just verified what I said. You would have to pay to use your phone as a mobile hotspot. The other option listed would be to tether your xbox to a computer or similar device and let the xbox
connect to the internet through your laptop... basically Internet>>Laptop>>Xbox instead of Internet>>Xbox.... OR Phone with paid hotspot>>Bluetooth (WIFI??)>>XBOX. Ill highlight the part about paying for mobile hotspot (unless your service offers it free,
but ive never heard of that)

What’s more, many mobile networks offer their own broadband services
    for a

monthly fee which does seem to offer some flexibility for those without

traditional connections. Interestingly the Xbox One can connect to smartphones

and other wireless devices in a seamless manner and could open the possibility

of gamers being able to perform the 24 hour check in via their existing mobile

    phone network.

EDIT..not sure what I did with the colors there..lol.. but yes..you have to have a mobile hotspot to check in...and I don't believe you can game online by connecting your phone to xbox....only to do the 24 hr verification.

  4. Connecting to Xbox live via mobile hotspots

Hey mate, out of curiosity, did you happen to get IP address errors on the 360 when you got the Xbox One? It's possible that the Xbox One's IP is interfering with the 360. I would first suggest resetting the network settings to factory on the 360:

    Restore Network Defaults

    1. Press the Guide Button on your controller, go to Settings.

    2. Select System Settings then Network Settings.

    3. Select Wired Network or your wireless network when displayed.

    4. Select Configure Network then Additional Settings tab.

    5. Select Restore to Factory Defaults then confirm when prompted.

If that has no affect, then I would then suggest trying a static IP which basically locks the IP address to the console so another device can't have it, my apologies for the non official steps, but this is some great steps for setting a static IP:

    Okay that's good.

Are you able to connect to your mobile via hotspot?

You cannot use a hotspot to connect a mobile device to a console via the smartglass app. The console and mobile device must be connected to the same WiFi network.
