    Connecting to PC


    I think my laptop is having issues finding and connecting to my X360 on my network. Can I get a checklist of items to check are enabled/disabled for things like the firewall and under Network and Sharing Settings, for example? My X360 came up in my list
    of devices after a bit of tinkering, but I was not able to cast any videos like I planned on doing.

    Is there a way to connect the Xbox One to your PC and listen to music like on the 360? I know about SkyDrive, but that only works with Videos and Pictures. I can't bring myself to play Forza 5 because I feel like I'm playing a post-apocalyptic shooter with
    the in-game music and I really need some racing music....

    Sorry to hear you're having connection problems. Are you attempting to connect to the Media Center through your laptop? Which operating system are you currently using on your laptop?

    Yes, I am trying to connect with my laptop. I am using Windows 10.

    Hey tuhin94,

    Unfortunately, you won't be able to cast it on Windows 10. You can do that through the Xbox One, but not the Xbox 360 console. If you want to play any media, you will have to use external hardware, like a USB flash drive. There might also be third party
    software out there that will allow you to create a media server, although we don't have any that we can recommend ourselves.

    Streaming to the X360 would have been a nice feature. Regarding playing media from a flash drive, I plugged in my flash drive but was never able to see the files on it. I have the optional media update installed. I formatted the drive on my X360 before putting
    files on it as well. Is there a step I'm missing out? If I can't stream media from online or my computer, at least being able to play local files would be nice.

    Simply connect the console to a PC via a bridged connection, and then just connect the PC to the internet.

    The reason this works is because your Xbox is using your PC as a proxy to connect to the LAN. Basically, all the router sees is your PC connecting, even though it is your Xbox using the internet.

    Have you tried connecting your modem to a PC? to see if it connects.

    If that still connects try connecting your PC to your router and then see if that connects o.k.
