Connecting to Internet but not to Live

I wasn't able to connect to Live while my profile was signed in. However, when I signed out, then it did connect. I thought maybe I should delete my profile and download it again. I deleted my profile, but now t it won't let me connect to Live at all.....except
it forced me to download an update....

It's connecting enough to download updates, but won't let me download my profile or otherwise access Live... Any ideas?

(I spent several days on the connection help page first going through the suggestions there with no result.)

same here. was playing bf4 monday night until 11pm. get up on tuesday morning around 9 and nothing is working/connecting. Called verizon fios and xbox live support. was up to midnight on the phone with both. There is something definately wrong...i live
in tampa and have verizon fios. my router is an Actiontec M142...

 

Are you getting an 8 digit error code when you try to connect?

 

Yes. I believe it's this one, but there is a B at the end of it. 80151901

This is the error code that talks about deleting and re downloading your profile. Unfortunately, when I attempt to do that, I get the same error code.

Can You clarify for me, every time You start Your console, it ask You to download update again? Is update process work without errors?

 

Ok, thanks for the error code. Can you follow the steps at the link below but clear the cache 3 times in a row before restarting the console and attempting a redownload again.

Unfortunately, that didn't work either. Now I can't download my profile... It won't connect to Live at all. It connects to the internet just fine, both wired and wireless. I'm getting stuck when it tries to connect to Live. I've tried quite a few solutions
with no luck yet. I just opened the ports that Live help recommended....no change.

I have tried everything and been on phone support with 4 different techs for over 5 hours. I am told my unit has gone bad. There is nothing wrong with the update. I told them I have seen hundreds of posts on this issue in the past 3 days. Tech support told
me they have not had any complaints or calls about this. I told them to check these forums because there are people on here with the problem and I doubt everyone's units went bad at the same time while doing the update.
