    Hi All

    First time poster!

    Thought I would try on here after exhausting Google.

    I am a parent and had set up a family account on my xbox360

    My child has a few games that need to connect to the EA servers to play online. He keeps getting an error message "unable to connect to the EA server at this time"

    Now, I realise it has something to do with his profile as he is under 16. When I log in as myself and play the game, it connects to the EA servers immediately.

    I have changed his profile on the XBox 360 to adult, gone online to his account via my laptop and changed his profile to adult and amended the date, so that he appears to be in his late 40's.

    When we try the game again, after switching off the console we get the same message.

    When we delete his profile and download again, same message.

    Any ideas how to resolve this?

    At least your connecting 4 weeks now with hardly connecting to EA servers.

    Battlefield 4 won't work

    Can't connect to the EA servers. Just keeps buffering and says "connecting". Really want to get Battlefield 1 but I've had problems connecting to the ea servers from time to time for the past month. What gives?

    You need to be 13 years old or over to use EA's servers.

    Once the date of birth is set on an account it can't be changed so if your son is under 13 he wont be able to play until he reaches the right age

    If the games are not M rated, he should be able to play as long as he is over the age of 13. Anything M rated, he would have to wait until you can promote his account to an adult account (there is no way to change the age of an account once you create it,
    so even the settings you have changed would not have actually changed the age of his account). The age restrictions are set in place by EA.

    He doesn't have an account with EA, we cannot even get that far.

    I thought the you could log in to an XBox 360 account and change the birth date?

    I have done this, but it hasn't made any changes.

    When you create an Xbox account it asks for your birthdate. There is no way to change that date after you enter it.

    Although your on xbox live you are still using EA's servers to play their games.It would be the same if you were on PSN & part of the conditions to play on their servers is that you must be 13 years or older

    this is not a problem on your end, it is EA that is the problem. EA forces us to use their servers and EA drops old games from their servers in favour of newer ones that are played more. also sometimes their server is crapping out with so many connections.
    so when you boot the game its connects through live first then connects to EA...and boom!!! disconnect issues (but your still connected to live)

    A very long time ago with an ea it game it asked if i wanted to link my account ea account i said no ever since then i cant connect to the ea server i simply get "Log in failed, unable to connect to EA servers"

    This happens often when you lose contection to EA servers, as ReproductioN pointed out. I have been having problems connecting to EA servers myself, I guess EA are preparing server space for BF3.
