Connecting to a Network

I went to change the game disc and when I went to change it, my Xbox shocked me, and now it won't show any networks at all. It just shows wired networks and wireless networks nothing else. I'm not sure what I did to it or how to fix it but it's frustrating
me now that I can't play online with any one now.

They only way you are going to be able to do this is by doing something called Internet Connection Sharing. Since you have to login via browser to your network, you can't do the same on your Xbox. However, you can sign in on the computer and then share that
connection with your Xbox.

You can do a search for a guide yourself or if you tell me what operating system you are using I can search for one for you.

Hi

Do you have to enter a username/password each time you connect to the Internet or just once? If its each time then yes you will need to use ICS

Are you using a wired connection? Wireless? What kind of Xbox? The old phat consoles or the newer slim/ugly duracell battery type thing?

Try scanning again for networks. If it's a phat console, remove the wireless card and re-attach it.

only have 1 network and the only way i can get on live is by retyping my network password every time i want to play..

Yeah, that'd be a pretty good assumption.

The only possibility could be if your console was purchased used or shipped to you by MS as a repair replacement - in that case it is possible the console was registered to the preview program by the previous
user and would still be receiving preview updates unbeknownst to you.

But, if you bought it new, this shouldn't apply.

Nothing has changed at all in the past month.

I take it if i have no idea what this preview program is I'm not on it?

In addition to DURP's questions, I would also ask, are you in the preview program? If so, from around that same time back, there have been some NAT issues occurring with the current preview, so I would wonder if it's in the same category of problem. If you
ARE in the preview, you would definitely want to post these details in that forum (if you need the link or navigation steps, let me know!)
