    Can I invite someone to a game of FIFA or madden or nhl even though we aren’t friends just by using their gamer tag? We’re close enough to play each other every now and then but don’t wanna be friends online.

    Indie games require a LIVE connection because they are not rated by any official body but by their users.

    The LIVE connection is a requirement so Microsoft can disable the games should they need to.
