Xbox One messing up with External HDD connected

Is your console connected to the 2,4 GHz RF-band? If so, and if your wireless router support dual band (2,4 GHz, 5 GHz), try connect your console to the 5 GHz RF-band instead.

If this is not an option, try connect your console with an Ethernet cable instead, and have us know whether your console is able to stay connected, or not.

You haven't told us what connection type your girlfriend is using.

USB 3.0 is susceptible to cause noise, or interference over 2,4 GHz.

To connect to the 5GHz band would I have to take the top panel off my xbox and connect it to one of the other little plug things on the wireless adapter?

Wireless-N-Adaptor can't connect to 5 GHz Networks anymore after failed dashboard-update.

My router does run the 2.5 GHz band simultaneously and my XBOX 360 connects to it without problems. It is not, that I don't have a connection. I do. I just cannot connect to the 5 GHz band, which I could before.

Xbox One X wireless not working properly

Do you own a dual band (2,4/5 GHz) wireless router? If so, have you tried to connect your console to both 2,4 GHz and 5 GHz, to see if it can connect properly to either of these bands?

If you have Instant on power mode enabled on your console, switch to power save mode instead.

Have you tried to manually connect your console to your wireless network?

My storage box specifically sais on it to never turn on the Xbox without it plugged in? Should I still try it?
Do you connect your Xbox wireless or wired? If wireless, do you connect your console to the 2,4 GHz band, or 5 GHz band?
