Connecting my xbox 360 to a monitor without av inputs

I have a monitor that has a vga input. I could connect the video to the monitor with an xbox 360 vga adapter but the av cables that came with that would have nowhere to go, so I wouldn't get any sound. I also have a pair of turtle beaches I'd still like
to be able to use with this monitor. I'm guessing I'm still going to get the vga adapter cables no matter what I do to make this work. But what other cables should I buy in order to use my turtle beaches or hear sound?

How to connect my xbox 360 to my computer monitor? Please Help

So I have a 24" BenQ monitor with 2 inputs. I have my computer hooked up to one of the inputs.

My goal is to have the other one hooked up to my xbox 360 and be able to use the same speakers to play sound from whichever device im using. Without having to switch cords every time I switch from xbox to my desktop or vice versa.

That way I should only have to change the input on my computer monitor to switch between them.

I have the xbox 360 HD VGA AV cable but not sure what else I need.

Any help is appreciated.

How to get audio out of built-in speakers in DVI PC monitor for Xbox

Hi!

Unfortunately, DVI doesn't transmit sound, it only transmits picture.

Does your monitor have a VGA input and red and white AV inputs?

If so, I would suggest getting an
Xbox 360 VGA HD AV Cable, then hooking it up that way.

The vga adapters I've seen have the red/white audio cables with, you can plug your turtle beaches into those and get sound through the headset.

under the premise that whatever setup you use for them allows you to simply plug in the VGA for picture and have red/white ports available for audio.

I tried this with my HP 2159m monitor and a Spilnter Cell Conviction 360. No issues. The thin AV adapter is plugged into the AV port and a regular HDMI cable is connected to the HDMI port on the monitor. I can flip to VGA and back to HDMI without causing
any issues for the 360.

Unfortunately that type of connection is not officially supported. We'd recommend using the

Xbox 360 VGA HD AV Cable if your monitor has a VGA input.

No problem, see if you can find one Used or something somewhere else before paying that much for it though. Also, you will need some type of Connection for the AV Input. If it's just a PC Monitor it probably wont have AV Inputs.
