Connecting my Xbox 1 to my network

    Hey Ryan

Thank you for taking the time to post this on the Xbox Forums.

As you might have noticed, there are more than one type of security protocols out there, and the Xbox One, is only compatible with a few.

You could essentially attempt to power cycle your console and network hardware, and you can perform this by following these steps:

    1. Unplug the power cable from the back of the router, modem, or gateway for five minutes. If you have a router and a modem, unplug the power cable from both devices.
    2. Restart your Xbox One console:
      1. Press and hold the Xbox button
in the center of your Xbox One controller to open the Power Center.
      2. Select Restart console.
      3. Select Restart.
Note If the console appears to be frozen, press and hold the
        Xbox
button on the console for 10 seconds, until the console turns off. After the console shuts down, touch the
Xbox button on the console again to restart.
    3. After five minutes, plug the modem or gateway in first and wait for all the lights to return to their normal state.
    4. If you are using a router, plug in the router and wait for all the lights to return to their normal state.

Ideally, you would could like to test your connection to Xbox Live at that point, and you can do this by following these additional steps:

    1. Press the Xbox button
to open the guide and select System.
    2. Select Settings > Network > Network settings.
    3. Any known outages will appear in the middle of the screen.
    4. On the right side of the Network settings screen, select
      Test network connection
      .

If you are not able to get online after following these steps, I recommend taking a look at the Network Connection Error Solution
wizard and see if the steps outlined work for you!

    games and apps not downloading

    Hi Again,

Port Forwarding did not do the trick.

I tried connecting my XBOX to my workplace, and download speed was off the chart...

The problem it seems is my ISP's 4G network.

I Tried connecting my xbox to my ISP's 4G network using my mobile device as a Mobile Hotspot, and the download speed was still below 1 KBs.

However if I did the same thing connecting my xbox to my ISP's 4G network using my mobile device as a Mobile Hotspot and connected my Mobile to VPN , it worked like a charm.

so I'm currently trying to get my ISP to figure out what the hell is going on, with their 4G network. ( My guess is that they blocked some of the ports)
