Connecting Microsoft in minecraft not working

I was trying to play minecraft, but it asked me to log in again. I use a Microsoft account, but every time I try logging in, the launcher crashes and don't log me in. I tried reinstalling the launcher but the same thing happened. I don't have a Mojang account and I don't know how to create one, and I'm scared of losing my worlds if I log in with a Mojang account. I don't know what to do anymore, please help me if possible.

Apparently I needed some Xbox things installed for it to work, but its going now

Hello, I'm also dealing with the same problem. When logging in with Mojang it won't delete your worlds, but it won't work if the Microsoft one isn't either. This is a bug going around and I hope its solved soon!

My microsoft account won't connect to minecraft. How come it only works for xbox.

This is not the first time I've signed into my Microsoft account for minecraft or Nintendo switch. I have tried multiple wifi connections, and the only error code it gives me is error code 500 and says xbox live cannot complete this request. I am able to log into my Microsoft account on the regular Microsoft website, just doesn't work for the website to connect it to my minecraft for nintendo switch
