Connecting headset through xbox one

I have a set of turtle beach x31’s, Unfortunately they way they connected to the 360 was from a red and white cable that was connected to the display adapter leading to a headphone jack on the other end going to a audio in port on the box that sent out the
wireless sound.

My question is:

If I connect my headset to the Xbox one ( I have seen a device that will convert the sound from an optical cable from the back of the one to a red & white which my headset can then plug into) and then connect my 360 to the one via the HDMI in port, Will
I be able to use my headset to hear the sound from the x box 360 and will my headphones pick up people chatting in games like it does on the 360.

I know it currently doesn’t give you the option to chat, but say for example I have my turtle beaches headphone adapter plugged into my 360 controller will that still allow me to talk to other people on the 360 even though the usb and cables are plugged
into the one?

If you're connecting your controller via Bluetooth then you wouldn't be able use a headset through your Xbox One controller. For more information on what's support via Bluetooth check out this

Xbox One Controller On Windows 10 Troubleshooter. If you haven't already, give a direct wired USB connection a try to see if you're able to use your headset again.

Will xp500s work with Xbox one now?

Sorry for bumping an old thread but I recently bought the xbox one headset adapter and the talkback cable. I can hear in game chat perfectly fine through the headset but it isn't picking up my voice. The headset mic is working because I can hear myself using the mic feature but the red circle when in party chat doesn't show any voice audio as being received.

I set up as follows:

adapter connected to xbox one controller
controller updated
3.5mm adapter connected to talk back cable
talkback cable connected to xp500 headset
can hear in game chat fine but no voice is being transmitted from my side

Any suggestions?

I Think you are asking this.

1. If you buy a DAC so that you can convert digital optical audio into analog so that you can plug it into your headphones and get game audio. Then yes this will work.

2. If you plug your 360 into your one via the HDMI passthrough will you hear your 360 via your headphones. Yes I think so.

3. 360 chat should still work as it has its own connection.

4. You could use Kinect for game chat on the ONE.

Another option would be to connect the headphones to your TV (either the headphone socket, analogue audio out or using a DAC to convert from digital audio depending on the connections on your TV)

Hi, unfortunately is not possible to connect the airpods to the xbox since they connect through bluetooth which is not available on the xbox consoles (the joypad is connected with a proprietary wireless protocol). If you want to connect an headset to the
xbox you need a dedicated compatible one or a cabled one to connect to the joypad through the jack.

Is
this guide the one you read on Xbox.com already? If not, do give it a read through and work through the steps provided. What headset are you attempting to connect to your Xbox One console? Per the guide I linked, the following headsets are not compatible
with the Xbox One:

Mad Catz Tritton Warhead headset
Mad Catz Tritton Primer headset (Mad Catz offers an adapter for the Primer headset to convert the 2.5-mm audio jack to a 3.5-mm audio jack. Contact Mad Catz for support.)
The Xbox 360 Wireless Headset and Xbox 360 Wireless Bluetooth Headset
Headsets with this 2.5-mm connector will not work because of the connector format. This connector includes a long, cylindrical pin in the middle of the connecting side that does not fit into the Xbox One Stereo Headset Adapter.

Thanks for coming to the forums. Sorry for the issue with your headset. When you are connecting the headset, are you connecting through the controller, or directly to the console? If you are connecting it to the console directly it will not work this way.
The Xbox consoles do not support USB mic, or HDMI mic. Here is a guide to connect

compatible headsets.

Azrael, the solution you provide is a lackluster solution. I stated the reason why above but so you don't have to go all the way to the top and read it again, I will re explain the issue.

The xbox one does not have the same feature that the xbox 360 has, which is the chat through speaker and headset. So, I have a polk audio Melee headset but it is connected to my xbox one with an Optical audio and a USB cable. this powers the headset and
gives it audio from the game and chat. The xbox one looks at the optical out as speakers as most will use this port for running a sound system or something along those lines.

Now when you connect the xbox provided headset, it takes the chat from your team mates that used to go through the speakers and runs it through the headset, being the xbox one provided headset. What this means is the headset I am wearing to hear the game,
the Polk Audio Melee that the xbox one registers as speakers, no longer gets game chat.

If xbox one had the play through speakers and headset option, there would be no issue, but they don't so I can either put the xbox one headset on and not hear the game, or put the one headset around my neck, and let my teammates hear me but me not hear them.
