Connecting a wireless headset with an Aux receiver?

    Hi,

I just purchased an Xbox One and would like to have the game sound on my Sennheiser HDR 170 wireless headset.

I currently have the Xbox connected to my Acer PC monitor via the HDMI cable although the monitor does not have its own sound output (Speakers or an AUX port).

Will a USB > AUX cable plugged into the Xbox and then into the back of the headset receiver work? Or does the Xbox not support such usb cables/devices.

I have also thought about getting a HDMI > VGA + AUX cable online although then i'd have to put up with VGA graphics....

While there is the controller adapter that will accept an AUX cable, it makes having a wireless headset pointless having the receiver plugged into the controller.

What options do I have if any?

    Many Thanks

    Doug

    :)

  2. Do wireless Beats by Dre work on a X-1

only if you can connect an aux cord into the headset which would plug into the controller headset adapter

Are you connecting your headset through a Chatpad on the Xbox One Wireless Controller? Are you using an adapter or is the headset plugged directly in the 3.5 mm Aux jack? Let us know with a reply to determine how to best assist you.

External mic on Xbox one x

    Hello there!

Regarding your explanation, In order to set this up, you will need a specific setup. The Mic you use needs to have an AUX port somewhere on it. The headset you use needs to have a removable mic that connects via AUX port as well.

Therefore, you will have the mic plugged in via USB for power, the Headset plugged into the controller, and your Mic connected to your headset via AUX cord.

    Need help with headset !!

Hello make sure you headset is properly connected to your controller, a lot of times if it is not completely connected but sort of half way connected you will get that echo or the symbol that you are talking but nothing is going through. You might have an
issue with the aux cord connected to your headset or in the aux port itself. try moving the cord around and kind of jimmying it to see if you can get a better connection.

    Xbox one external mic?

    Hello Gijojo,

Thank you for posting here on the Xbox forums. In order to set this up the way you like, you need a specific setup. The Mic you use needs to have an AUX port somewhere on it. The headset you use needs to have a removable mic that connects via AUX port as
    well.

    So you would have:

    1. The mic plugged in via USB for power
    2. The Headset plugged into the controller
    3. Your Mic connected to your headset via AUX cord.

This set up will work for party chat as well as streaming.

I ended up getting a wireless headset but thanks for the response, something i found out was if you slowly put the aux part into the controller it'll most likely work
