Connecting a US Xbox 360 in Australia - possible?

I'm from the US, and am planning on being in Australia for a while, and was wondering what the possibilities are regarding taking my 360 with me. Assuming I can find a TV there which will support NTSC playback (not sure how easy that will be), would I still
be able to access Xbox Live (also assuming I can obtain a decent broadband connection)?

I'm guessing any game discs sold in Aus wouldn't work on my North American 360, which is fine since I'd be bringing my own discs anyway. However, what about digital downloads? If I buy the digital download of Destiny, for example...would I still be able to
access and play it if I was connected in a country other than the one in which the purchase was made?

Using an Xbox 360 from USA in Australia

Hello all,

I brought a spare XBOX 360 I had from the US to Australia. I plugged it in and I just realized the bloody thing is 110, so I think the adapter is done for.

Anyways, the question is: if buy an power brick for the XBOX 360 in Australia, will I be able to just plug that into the (US) Xbox 360 and plug it into the electric outlet?

Any way to speed up connection between Aus and UK?

Distance is always going to cause problems when it comes to connecting with us in the home counties from Australia. With the States and Asia you're quite a bit closer to them compared to us.

Xbox 360s are not region locked. Im from canada , moved to the US , and have Silent Hill Downpour AND Left for Dead 2 Australia versions. I also have Dark Souls 2 from Japan , they all work fine. Digital downloads... mine worked when I moved , im pretty
sure yours will too. Be sure to change the region on your account. Good luck dude

No, it's not possible to use an Xbox One or Xbox Series X|S controller on an Xbox 360 even connected with a wire.

I bought the console from EB Games Australia and I bought the game on the xbox store (in Australia).

Why would a digital download from the xbox store be region locked?

Is it possible that the previous owner of the console bought an US or Asian console version, and then sold it to EB Games in Australia?

Not all games are region locked (for example, all Microsoft Game Studios games are all region free, and will work on any Xbox 360 console worldwide), while other games like your Sonic Unleashed is Region locked.

Since you are in Australia, and have an Australian account, you bought the "PAL" version of the game, which will not run on Asian or US consoles, due to the region lock.

If the console really is from a different region than PAL, you might have to return the console to EB Games and ask them for a console that "works" in Australia, or give you a refund.

Well, IZzReLaPsEzZI, you clearly have done your research. Whether or not you will actually see 720p will have to do more with your TV and how you connect to it. By definition and specifications, composite video has a total of 525i at 30fps for NTSC, and
626i at 25fps for PAL. And, with all due respect to Armenia, Belarus and a few others, SECAM is as dead as the former Soviet Union. S-video is just a bifurcated version (luminance and chrominance) of their composite video counterparts and are limited to the
same resolution. So, based on the physical connections available on your TV, the only way to get 720p is either by an analog component (YPbPr/RGB) or digital cable. Of those, the only ones currently available and supported by Microsoft for the Xbox 360 are
the HDMI Cable, Component HD AV Cable and VGA HD AV Cable (also the SCART adapter in the UK, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand), see "How to connect your
Xbox 360 S or original Xbox 360 to a TV". Note, that because of possible DRM (Digital Rights Management) issues, the resolution via the Component HD AV Cable and SCART adapter maybe restricted. Therefore, depending on source material, the best way to ensure
that you are viewing the highest possible resolution from your Xbox is to use HDMI.
