Connecting 2 accounts same console on Minecraft please Help!

My husband and I have recently downloaded Minecraft. We’ve been building a world on his account and me as a guest “second controller”. Today I decided to add my account to the console. I can open the game but can’t see our world. He sent me an invite. But I can’t join him. Does anyone know if it’s possible for us to both be signed into the Xbox and be in our world together? And more over me get access to our world when he’s offline? We have it under creative world. Not interacting with others just building things.

It’s been years since I’ve played any games. So please talk like your talking to a newb lol
