Connected to Internet, but not live

So I bought a used xbox one the other day and after setting it up and connecting it to my wifi it says that I'm connected. Which is true because I can go on Netflix. The problem is anytime I try to play halo it tells me I must be connected to xbox live to
play online and madden 16 tells me I have a connection failure to xbox live and the ea servers.

-I've tried the hard reset, holding the power button for 10 secs.

-I tried creating a new account, but same problem

-2 day gold trial codes aren't recognized.

-I live in a college apartment complex where Internet comes with the place and it's wifi only, but I never had a problem with it and my 360.

If yall can offer any help I'd appreciate it!

Connected to Internet but not live

My Xbox is telling me I'm connected to the internet but every time I get on halo it says I'm not connected to live. Same with gta. If it lets me search for people it won't find anyone or join a lobby in gta with anyone in it. Getting really frustrated
and am about ready to get my money back on this console.

Hello!

If you go to test your Xbox Live connection from the console, do you get any errors? This can be done by going to Settings>Network

I would advise if you do that you check the network error solution here:
support.xbox.com/.../network-connection-error-solution

Also, if you remove the network form the console (forgetting the network) and then re-add it does that help any?

I've tried testing the connection and it says it's fine and connect to the Internet and I've tried disconnectin and reconnecting to the wifi with no results.

Can You ask college Network Administrator, if Xbox One network ports are filtered on Firewall or not?

Should add, I have logged out and back in with no success, not done the hard reset and worried about saves

Try this. Your saves will be fine if you have been playing online they will be saved in the cloud.

Log out of all profiles. Then remove your profile from the console. Perform an hard reset EXACTLY like this. Hold the power button on the console for 10 seconds or until the power shuts down completely. Unplug the power cord from the back of the console
for 5 minutes. Plug the power cord back in and restart the console. Once it is back up and operational reload your profile log in and test to see if the problem is resolved.

I'm having the same issue. I was connecting fine with my modem and wireless router until yesterday. Now it picks up my network but can't connect to live. If I test my Xbox live connection....it connects to the network and Internet but not live. If I run
a static check it connects to the Internet. However if I do the Initial Setup....the Internet fails and says Blocked next to xbox live
