Connected to internet but no live

I have recently bought my xbox one say week ago i turned my xbox off come back to it 30 minutes later i connected to internet but unavailable to connected to live i have reset router also checked internet connection its fine also multiplayer is fine been
down 4 hours and honestly thinking about selling it cost me 370 and now this just want to know whats happening as my friends are still able to play

yep, went through all the steps except direct ethernet connection as that is pretty unwieldy for me to do

Sorry to hear about your issues, Xbox Live is currently down for many people. Please check out THIS thread to stay up to date with the issue as its being addressed or alternatively visit the
'service alert page' for updates every 30 minutes. Unfortunately these things can happen but they do not often occur frequently. The service is usually otherwise very stable and enjoyable.
Hold tight, hopefully its a quick fix.

Should add, I have logged out and back in with no success, not done the hard reset and worried about saves

Try this. Your saves will be fine if you have been playing online they will be saved in the cloud.

Log out of all profiles. Then remove your profile from the console. Perform an hard reset EXACTLY like this. Hold the power button on the console for 10 seconds or until the power shuts down completely. Unplug the power cord from the back of the console
for 5 minutes. Plug the power cord back in and restart the console. Once it is back up and operational reload your profile log in and test to see if the problem is resolved.

I'm having the same issue. I was connecting fine with my modem and wireless router until yesterday. Now it picks up my network but can't connect to live. If I test my Xbox live connection....it connects to the network and Internet but not live. If I run
a static check it connects to the Internet. However if I do the Initial Setup....the Internet fails and says Blocked next to xbox live
