Are you sure the Xbox 360 is a wired Xbox 360 controller, and not connected by a separate cable like the play and charge cable? If it is the play and charge cable, it will not work on Windows 10, as it only charges the batteries on a PC. If it is a actual
wired controller, then Windows 10 should detect and then download the drivers if needed.

Unfortunately, game streaming on Windows is only supported by the Xbox One and not the Xbox 360.

What exactly do you want to achieve by connecting the Xbox to the PC?

Since the Xbox 360 is not powerful enough to do game streaming via network like the Xbox One, your only option would be to get the video feed from the Xbox 360's video output to your PC monitor, or through a capture card.

So the cheapest solution would be, to get a compatible cable to connect your Xbox 360 to a regular monitor or TV.

If you actually want to capture your gameplay on PC, you would need to buy a
capturing device that is able to capture from HDMI, or if you have a 360 without HDMI, a

capture device able to capture from component or composite.

Be aware however, that capturing devices introduce a lot of lag, so watching the captured output through the desktop software will make gaming very difficult.

In the example of Skyrim, if you are in a fight with another person, the console might render an image with your enemy rising the sword for attack, sends it out to the video port, where the capture device recieves it.

The capture device has to compress the video, process it, send it to the PC for recording, and then render it to a memory location of your graphics card where the video chip then displays it on the desktop.

By the time that pipeline is finished, and you see the enemy rising the sword on your Windows 10 desktop video window, the console has already rendered the animation where the enemy brings the sword down and you are already hit, while you still see the sword
above the head of your enemy.

So, if you have a Laptop, the short answer would be: You don't need cables, as it's not possible to do with only a cable. You would have to have a capture device.

If you have a desktop PC with an external monitor, the most effective way would be to keep the PC out of the equation and directly connect your console to the desktop monitor, if the monitor and console have HDMI ports.

The Xbox One Wireless controller with Bluetooth can be connected to a Windows 10 PC with a USB cable, Bluetooth, or with the Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows 10, so yes, it can be connected via the adapter. The Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows 10 is not

as far as I remember, a play and charge cable is only used to charge the battery it isn't used for any communication purposes between PC and controller. To use the controller you would need a wireless receiver (specifically for Xbox 360 controllers) to be able to use the controller on a PC.
