Connect Xbox 360 to Win 8

I have upgraded to Win 8 on PC. My PC picks up the Xbox on my Home Network but my Xbox wont pick up my PC.

I have told PC to shear all file with exceptions to doc's. My laptop also is running Win 8 and has picked up Xbox but Xbox can't find the laptop.

I have an older PC running win XP this also is on my Home Network it does pick up Xbox and the Xbox recognizes Win XP.

Is this a simple issue to fix or do I have to but Win Media Center, How can I fix this issue?

xBOX Music Player App in Win8 wont connect

I recently upgraded my laptop to Win 8. When I launch the music app it cant connect to xBOX. I have internet access. I recently added an xBOX 360. I subscribe to xBOX Music Live and an xBOX family account. On the laptop the Video app launches and connects.

You would have to connect your console through a computer or laptop.

For a windows based computer:

For a mac based computer:

If that doesn't work then I would suggest using Tversity. It's a free program that I use that can stream movies, music and pictures to your console with little to no issues.

I get it for XBOX ONE and XBOX 360. And WIN 8 when I get one.

He's actually correct. I've noticed that streaming to the embedded media player isn't working properly. I have two systems, with different OS's (Win 7 Ultimate and Win 8 Pro) and different connection methods (8 Pro is wired, 7 Ultimate is wireless) and neither
will share properly to the 360s music player via Zune (on both) or WMP (on the 7 Ultimate). The 360 CAN see my music files in Media Center from the 8 Pro box but it doesn't see any of my playlists.

I just installed win 8 pro (totally updated with smart glass app also updated) and xbox 360 slim (has latest update from this week) so far not good, I tried to run video player , I choose a Free tv called Man eaters . the xbox was playing it, but when
I tried to use smartglass from win 8 , it told me it could not find it. now I am downloading it to xbox hard drive and will try again. maybe it cant stream to xbox , then network to win 8 . right now running all by cables for max speed.

does any one know were we can find a list of games that are compatible with smartglass ?

I downloaded trial of home run stars but unfortunately I don't have a Kinect

but the win 8 tried to connect but xbox was held up by Kinect error( not having one)

OK the video is now playing in win 8 smartglass I had to download the video to xbox hard drive. seems pretty smooth.

IN the past , I have done this with media player on win 7 and media player app on xbox, but this seems much easier.

now to get a game that works . BTW the xbox stopped playing as soon as the win 8 started to play the video .

$15 upgrade dang , I had to spend $40 Oh well.

There is currently an issue at this moment were it's not possible to connect to Xbox Live with a Windows 8 game. I've tested it myself with 4 or 5 Win 8 games and neither one will connect. I'm sure Microsoft will be aware and working on a fix.
