Connect to Xbox Live with a wired connection at University!?!?!?!?

Hey, I moved in to uni halls last week, and i have been trying to connect to xbox live ever since,

I can't connect via wifi at the uni, because it uses 802.1x meaning i would need to enter both a username and a password, which the xbox won't allow me to do.

I can't share the connection from my macbook pro because the mac won't share a 802.1x connection for obvious security reasons.

I tried registering the MAC address of the xbox on the universities network but that didn't make a difference.

I have tried registering my computer and connecting successfully on that and then copying my details from the computer to the xbox i.e IP/subnet/gateway/etc.

I NEED XBOX LIVE PLEASE HELP ME.

From my investigations, i know my uni network gives devices their ip, so must be a manual input on the xbox, which i have just copied from my mac.

Xbox One and WPA2 Enterprise

There is no current documentation that the Xbox One support WPA-enterpise or WPA2-enterprise (802.1x) connectivity.

The workaround (as for the Xbox 360) is to connect your console (wired) with a computer. Share the computer's Internet connection and use your computer's MAC address as your console's alternative MAC address.

You may try this guide to see if it is working:

Unfortunately there is a problem, if you log in to the WiFi with your Mac and then clone is MAC adress to the One. This will give you Internet access, but there are known problems that it does not allow you to play games online this way.

It's there anyway to get a wired connection?

Greetings Super!

Could you run a diagnostic test to LIVE and let us know where it fails to connect. Go to Xbox network settings and select
Test Xbox LIVE Connection.

What is the make and model of your modem?

Access your router and make sure UPnP (Universal Plug and Play is ticked enable.

If its possible, try with a wired solution to see if you are able to connect properly.

I discovered it if anyone has this issue at a University after failing to connect choose "Let's Fix It" after failing to fix the solution choose to manually set up your internet connection choose wired or wireless choose the connection you desire it will
fail to do a connection and fix test again however this time you will be brought to a page where you can edit your connection settings. On this page you will be able to see your wired and wireless MAC address using this you should be able to manually register
the Xbox either through your Universities website or the IT department.

Really hope this is helpful to anyone that was in my position!
