connect to live to watch DVD's??

I've been trying off and on all night to watch DVD's on my One, but I keep getting pop ups telling me to connect to live. I'm not sure if I'm just not getting wifi, or if my subscription ran out; but I've even gone offline, yet I still get the pop up. It
seems kind of pointless, considering I've been able to was movies offline before with no problem.

Any any help would be much appreciated.

Watch Dogs - cannot connect to live/online play

KZG Inferno. There was an issue with Xbox Live which has been resolved now -
support.xbox.com/.../xbox-live-status this could have caused what you were seeing.

For the OP, as mentioned Watch Dogs is under heavy load and Ubisoft is working on resolving the connection issues. If connection fails try again later and you should connect just fine.

Watch Dogs - cannot connect to live/online play

I received the game Watch Dogs the day it was released for xbox one, I have yet to connect to live while playing the game. Once I get onto xbox one i am able to log into xbox live and use codes it shows my friends and messages. I am able to do everything
else on live except play Watch Dogs w/ live. so I'm unable to interact with others live players and hack others and to make money do mission etc.

many ideas on what I need to do? Thanks in advance!

That's strange. Have you tried a
power recycle?

You might want to open the DVD player without a DVD in to see if it needs an update. I've had issues in the past where a media app hasn't said it needed an update to work when it actually did.

Im connected wireless and no when i watch a normal dvd and im signed in it just says disconnected from xbox live

It just says there was a problem connecting, that there is something wrong with my network... Update, though. I was watching a DVD on xbox and it suddenly connected to Live.. I don't know why. Since then, if I start watching a DVD it connects, sometimes
it even connects before I have it on. I haven't tried to do anything online yet, though. Any ideas as to why it would suddenly start working?

Hey there Yeti!

An internet connection is not required while watching a DVD. Can you describe what error you're seeing?

If this is the first DVD that you've tried to watch, then it's possible that you haven't downloaded the Blu-Ray Player app, which is required to watch Blu-Rays/DVDs. When you first put a Blu-Ray/DVD in the console, it will automatically prompt you to
download the app. If you didn't already have it installed and you weren't connected to Xbox Live, then it would give you an error.

Let us know what you're seeing and whether or not you're able to watch a DVD while offline after downloading the Blu-Ray Player app. We'll be standing by to hear back from you! ^_^

Hi ,

I just finished a chat with Support. The solution from them was to sign out of Live before playing DVD drives. Surprisingly (to me) that seems to work.

So I cannot be connected to Live when watching DVD movies. Learn something every day !

My voice settings are: Voice Volume - 10, Game Volume - 6, and play through headset. I have a wired headset. I tried changing my video sharing preferences, but it still did not work.
