Connect to friends

Its either Xbox live and or IW or both but I cannot connect to certain friends on COD Ghost. I could when the game first came out now its at least 5 people I cannot connect to. That is ingame and xbox party chat. Tells me there are network issues. I know
its not on my end as I have open all ports and have a open NAT. Nothing has changed on my end and didnt have trouble with BO, BO2, MW3, MW2. My friends also cannot connect to me. When they host I cannot join and when I host they cannot join. When tring to
give either me or my friends host of the lobbie it gives my other friend the message you do not have the suffice bandwith. I know this is bull. You guys have changed something on the servers since xbox one came out. I do not have any issues on PS3 and I have
the free membership. This is sad for xbox as I will not be renewing my membership and you guys will lose a 10+ year customer.

Party connection issue

Can you connect to your friend while you are alone? Can you connect to a third party? and then connect to your friend? Can your friends connect to each other? What happens when you and your friends try to connect?

 

Me and two of my friends cannot on Xbox Live even though we both have open NAT

Okay so me and two of my friends cannot connect to each other on Xbox Live even though we all have open NAT. We used to be able to connect but then friend 1 upgraded his internet then he could not connect to me or friend 2. Me and friend 2 could still connect
until friend 2 upgraded his internet and got a new router. now none of us can connect to each other but we can all to our other friends.

Incase its important here are our current routers

mine - Linksys WRT54G

friend 1 - Dlink DIR615

friend 2 - Dlink DIR815

please help.

Appreciate if you could post up the make and model of your router and your modem as well (if this is not a single device). Also, state wether you have one Xbox, connected to your router, or if you have multiple xboxes, connected to the same router.

Is there anyone of you which connects via College/Uni. network?

Have you asked anyone of your affected friends if they have an error related to their NAT's behavior?

The xbox is a modern warefare 3 edition with 320 gig hdd. Router is a linksys e3000 with current software running and modem is zyxel P-600 series. Both the modem and router has ports opened for xbox live and xbox is on a fixed ip address when it comes on.
This is at a home. Xbox is conntected to router via cat 6 ethernet cable. I have open nat but the 2 friends have moderate nat. Nothing has changed between us since Black ops 1 This is why its so confusing. The only time I started to have trouble was at e3
in 2013. Before that I could connect to them and vice versa.

The way you've set up your Xbox for connectivity to Xbox LIVE, is breaking the very essence, how applications on your console tries to establish a UDP communication over NAT traversal. You see, only one device on your local network should be doing NAT (Network
Address Translation).

Your ZyXEL needs to be operating in bridge mode, to have it running as a standard modem and thereby to rule out the router function built-in to this device.

If this device were deployed by your ISP, (Internet Service Provider) then you need to consult with them, how to configure your wireless gateway into bridge mode. Have them know that you're using an additional router which terminates to this device.

I know more about the setup than the isp. My isp has terrible customer support and they can barely speak english. I have tryed the modem in bridge mode and I get lower speed on upload and download. Not sure why. Also I had more trouble with the modem in
bridge mode. The isp will not help me due to that I did not buy a router from them which is BS. The exact brand is what they use but a cheaper model. As of recently all friends in party chat has been kick out of party chat so this means its MS xbox live that
is having trouble.

 

Appreciate if you could post up the model number for your zyxel P-600.

Could you specify how you've configured this device for bridge mode.

 

The P-600 is the model number and I followed the directions from my isp page about putting the modem into bridge mode. I actually had more trouble with other devices connecting to the internet thru bridge mode than routing. If I take away the router and
go from the xbox to the modem directly I get a open nat due to me having ports open up on the modem but I still cannot connect to certain friends. One of them has open nat. My guess is if its not MS that is having trouble then its the isp's blocking each other.
I know I can get another isp here but the thing is verizon has this area blocked. Question. If verizon has this area blocked how can I get service from another isp when their web page says they can give me isp service. Because im sick of the isp im with.

direct communication with the friend with Open NAT? If he/she, or you, is able to establish a connection through an invite request?

you know if your ISP uses Large Scale NAT, (LSN) or carrier-grade NAT (CGN)?

When I tryed to do bridge mode it was over 4 years ago and had trouble with the upload and download speed issue as in not connecting at the speed I was suppose to be. Since then I have been on routing mode with open nat and had no trouble until recent.

I have tryed to send my friends party chat invites and or games invites and or both and they and I get cannot connect due to network issues. As I know they do not live near me and is not with verizon but I can check tonight when they are on to be sure. I
have notice one thing when I opened the ports on the modem which I done recently I could connect to 1/4 friends that I couldnt do before.

As for my isp I have no clue if they use Large Scale NAT, (LSN) or carrier-grade NAT (CGN). When I call I have to call a different number due to level one tech being dumb. When I get level 2 tech they speak a little better english where I can understand
them. I have earthlink which goes thru verizon. I only know this cause i traced my ip and came back as verizon.

Also forgot to ask you. Before last year dashboard update I could stream videos off the dashboard without buffering now its impossible. It rebuffers ever1-5 sec. Example video of new map packs of COD ghost.
