Connect to DLNA server

How do I access the DLNA server to stream multimedia from there. I use WD MyCloud

DNLA media Player

My Xbox doesn't even detect my PC. When I launch the media player app, I get the message that I have to connect to a DLNA server or USB drive to view media. If I launch my Xbox 360's media app, I see my desktop's DLNA server in addition to the Plex server
I'm running. This is using the same network cable for both the 360 and the Xbox One.

DLNA

You can use a mobile app called skifta as a DLNA controller between your DLNA server and Xbox One.

Which firmware are you using on the WD My Cloud device?

For 04.xx.xx you can refer to this manual for some guidance on how to enable DLNA on the device:
products.wdc.com/.../kb.ashx

For 02.xx.xx check this manual out:
products.wdc.com/.../kb.ashx

Once enabled you should be able to access the files on the NAS. Here's some info for Xbox360:

do you have the DLNA option enabled on your WD My Cloud? What application/player are you using to play your files?

Xbox One will be supporting DLNA on it's media player app with the upcoming October dashboard update, so this should be possible without problems.

It's already possible to stream media towards the One with the windows media player, but with the next update the One will be able to browse for DLNA servers within the network it's connected to.
