Connect pc to xbox with internet cable?

Works Well. About the only way to connect in a hotel.

With ICS, the computer passes any internet traffic on to the Xbox it needs and handles the web browsing.

Internet --- ethernet cable ---PC------ ethernet cable ------Xbox

or

Internet ~~~~~~~~WiFi~~~~~~~~~~PC------- ethernet cable -----Xbox

Firstly: Your laptop need to be installed with two network adapters. One being an Ethernet network adapter, and one being a wireless network adapter.

Secondly: Make sure your laptop has connectivity to the Internet.

Connect an Ethernet cable, from your laptop, to the Ethernet port on your console.

If you use Windows, as the operating system, you can then choose two different methods, ICS (Internet Connection Sharing), or Bridge Connection.

another person trying to help here if I understand correctly your desktop pc, currently connected to the router and has an internet connection in your room right

if so you can use a switch like shadow mentioned to be able to connect multiple devices, in this case your pc and xbox, to connect to the internet, you'll need an additional network cables though.

You'll need to connected the switch to the cable where the pc is connected to and from the switch you are able to connect the xbox and the pc by cable.

A router is possible too, but that might be an overkill since it has more functionality/options then a switch

The xbox only reads wires that go to the ethernet part so first connect the 3g usb moderm on a pc or laptop then connect the ethernet cable and share the internet with the xbox

maybe the ethernet cable you're using is damaged, try to connect a pc using the same cable and check if you're able to connect to internet that way
