Connect Laptop to Xbox to TV

I am looking for a way to connect my laptop to my Xbox One and use that as a connection to my TV. I am not looking to stream. I just want an bigger "monitor" for when I work. I need a larger screen sometimes other than my 15" laptop screen. Or the use of
dual monitors. I know there are adapters I can get to achieve this, but if Xbox can do it, I really don't want to spend extra money.

No images on my TV

actuality can you connect an HDMI device (other than the xbox) to the tv if you cant get an picture than there is something wrong with the tv, so try to put a dvd player in or laptop in the tv to try

If your TV is a modern "smart" TV you don't even need your Xbox.

What I do is I wirelessly link my laptop to my TV, my laptop sees the TV as a second monitor, and all I do is tell the laptop to use the TV as the primary monitor and the inbuilt monitor as the secondary.

If you don't have a smart TV, then you could just connect the monitor to the TV using an HDMI cable, I used to do it all the time and it works a treat, just the slight problem of long HDMI cable dragging over the floor.

Laptop HDMI's are output only, not inputs. An Xbox console cannot be connected to a laptop HDMI. They can, however, be connected to a TV or monitor.

The HDMI port on the laptop is designed to be used the other way around for example, how you put a HDMI cable into the laptop and connect it to a tv, therefore moving the video (for example) on to the tv. Basically there is only an output connection not
an input connection.

NO, your laptop have an HDMI out, you can workaround this using Xbox Companion App on Windows 10.

If both Xbox One and your laptop use ethernet connection to your network, you can play without any issue.

To connect to your laptop wirelessly you need to be on your current network to set it up as you need to connected to the laptop wirelessly to see anything since you don't have a tv

But you need a good connection

You have options you just selecting options that are Harder to do

A laptop capture card is very VERY expensive and limited

You need a serious laptop or computer for that
