Confusion with home xbox locked me out of my own xbox :(

Hi all!

So, I'm a dunce and locked myself out of my xbox. I was staying at friends house for spring break and linked my account to his xbox for the time being so I could play my games while I was there. I did that not realizing there was a limit to how many times
you could reassign your home xbox.

Is there a way to get one more chance back so I can make my own xbox my home xbox again? I've been back from vacation and back at work. I need my game more than ever.

Locked Out of My Own Account

It's been about 8 years since I last picked up an Xbox controller. While trying to remember my pw from 8 years ago I get myself locked out of my account. Now, the only way to get back in is to answer questions from 8 years ago. "What's the last 4 digits
of the CC you used 8 years ago?" I am beyond upset that I keep getting the run around and, when I finally get to talk to a real person, they ask me the exact same questions as the recovery. And to make it worse, the guy hung up on me in the middle of the conversation.
So much for giving Xbox another chance.

Locked Out of My Own Account

If you contact your bank they will be able to tell you this information.

Due to security issues these questions are set up so people cannot access the account without proper authenticity.

I understand this can be frustrating, but your Bank will be able to provide this information to you quite easily.

why didn't you just use your profile while signed into live would make more sense

The home console setting isn't meant for temporary visits

For a reset you are going to have to contact Support but they are under no obligation to do so

One simple explanation is if the home account on the Xbox actually owns BO2. If so, you’re downloading their copy.

That is where I am so confused by this. My account is the home account for the Xbox and also the account that as of yesterday owned the liscence for the download

Sorry to hear about this confusion about owning or not owning a DLC pack.

It sounds like maybe another account owned the DLC on the previous system you were playing on which granted you access to its content. This can be done if the other account had that Xbox as its Home system. This essentially grants all users access to that accounts digital content even if the account is not logged in.

One can make a system their home system in two ways. By changing the settings when logged in or by creating their profile on the system and accepting the prompt

This means that you lost rights to the DLC when you moved over to a new system causing the confusion.

I'm sorry but your reply has me slightly confused.

My sons Xbox is set as my accounts Home Xbox, his account is also signed in on that same Xbox but the sharing isn't working.
