    Confusion about XBox One headsets


    I'm lost trying to figure out whats going on with the chat headset for the xbox one. Just got a One S, which came with the "new" controller, but no chat set. When looking for a headset, everything I come across requires the extra $$$ for an adapter. Is
    there any list of headsets that work out of box, so I don't have to spend even more money (that I don't have after shelling out for a console, and then game, and THEN Live just so I can play the G**D*** thing I just purchased)?

    Apologies for any confusion, I'm afraid we don't have free headsets to provide here. If your headset is out of warranty then you will need to purchase a replacement. Again, apologies for the confusion about posting here, if you have any other Xbox support

    I don't know what I was thinking, my answer is obviously wrong and I have known that for a while. Pretty much any headset that does wireless chat on Xbox 360 will not work.

    I don't know about a list of headsets, but there are headsets made specifically for the Xbox One that do not require the adapter.

    Thank you for taking the time to post this on the Xbox Forums.

    As far as
    what headsets are compatible with your Xbox One    , unless the headset connects into your controller, you will be unable to use it.

    Bluetooth, and USB headsets will not work on your console, however on the Xbox 360 you were able to use a USB to power on your controller, but you would still need to plug a jack into the base of your controller in order for it to function.

    I'm sorry about any confusion this might have caused.
