Confused about giving my son access to the Gold Subscription

Hi. I've got two accounts on the xbox, an adult one (mine) and a child one ( my son). I purchased xbox live subscription but my
son needs me to sign in every time as it won't show that he has it on his.... Is this correct? How do I get the subscription to share? I don't use the xbox for anything I just want the parental controls.

Can you share an xbox 360 live gold subscription on an Xbox One?

My son has an Xbox 360 with a Gold Subscription I currently have a 360 with a silver subscription. I am upgrading to an Xbox one and was wondering how the Live subscriptions work. Will my son be able to use his Gold subscription on both machines. Also, will
it be possible for me to access Gold on my Xbox One without having to purchase a second subscription?

My subscription to Xbox Gold is not active even though it says it's paid for.

Good evening,

My subscription to Xbox Live Gold is registering as paid for on the subscription manager screen. Yet, whenever I try to access any Gold service it tells me I have to subscribe. Hence, I'm confused. What happened to my subscription?

If you're using the One, you can set the console as your Home console which will allow him to access the gold from his account. My Home Xbox Setting on Xbox One | Share Your Xbox One

If you're using the 360, you would need to purchase the gold on his account. You can try contacting support and speak to billing to see if they can cancel the subscription on your account and give you a token for the remaining time to add to his account.

If you sign into your sons account here

and go through the purchase process it will give you an option to use the account currency to purchase the gold subscription it will then give you a new 25 digit code to enter in on your sons account and give him access to the gold subscription.

My Microsoft account has:

Xbox Live Gold

EA Access on XBox

Both paid subscriptions.

My son has his Microsoft account:

Family share my Xbox live Gold

he has access to the EA Games I have downloaded but cannot get multiplayer access with his free EA Games account. Such as Mirrors Edge 2, he can play but cannot get extra options "shared".

I'm asking if that is a possibility to login into EA Games under my sons Xbox/Microsoft login to give him access without causing any conflict in licensing.

Just seems confusing in that nothing is clearly stated in the official offerings around this capability. So I'm trying to get clarity. Again thanks for the help and deciphering all of this.

You need to have a gold subscription to play online.

The gamepass just gives you access to over 100 games at no cost as long as you have an active gamepass subscription,it does not give you access to online multiplayer.

It also lets you buy & keep any games included with the gamepass at a discount should you wish to own them.

I believe there was a promo where you got a months gold if you subscribed to gamepass in some regions or you possibly used the 14 day trial that comes with a new account so one of those may be the reason your son could play online.

Doesn't matter if you own the game on disc,you still need an active gold subscription in order to access online multiplayer,there is no way around this.

If your son want's to play online then he would need to buy a gold subscription.

Thanks for coming to the forums. We understand have a question on Xbox live gold subscription. Which account did you purchase the subscription on? If your sons it should give access. If you purchased on your account, you need to set you profile as

home console. This will allow your son to use the subscription and any games that are on your account.
