Conflicting Xbox profiles/accounts

Hello,

I used to have a live account years ago under an *****@hotmail.com account and under that account it seems like I had created two profiles, one for skype and one for X-box with the username that I always use for everything, including my *****@gmail.com account which is the one that i now use for my current Live account. this username is the same across pretty much all my social networks, and i would pretty much like to have it as my username for my Xbox account.

Now, I'm buying an Xbox and i would like to setup a gamepass and buy some games under the Xbox profile associates to my gmail Live account, but i would like to keep my username in xbox.... it seems like there is some sort of username changer where i could release that username from the hotmail live account and then pick it up with the gmail live account, but im nervous that something goes wrong and i end up loosing that username for ever in xbox.

i dont want to use the *****#1234 version, as it have the native username already.

i'm wondering if it is just better that i logging to my console with the current profile that is on the Hotmail live account. but then, all the emails sent to my xbos account would be sent to the hotmail account, which i honestly have years without using... i only found out it was still alive today when i tried to get my usual username in the xbox account and noticed it was used... and i tried to logging with that username and saw it was already associated to the old hotmail live acct...

any help would be really appreciated as i would like to fix this before i setup my xbox for the first time and start purchasing content.

Hello again, yes, the Gamertag will become available but you won't be able to get it to your other Xbox account.

This is because after changing the Gamertag, the old one is suspended in the system, and unfortunately Microsoft does not disclose how long the Gamertag is suspended.

another piece of information, that very same username is the display name that i would like to have in my microsoft live account, but again.. it's claimed by that old hotmail live account... if any advise on getting that, it would be greatly appreciated.

thanks a lot for the information, just to clarify... if i have the profile for XBOX in that old account.. an the gamertag, for example ABCDEFG, and i change the gamertag to another, for example AAAAA, shouldn't the ABCDEFG be released free for me to take it with my current account?

or would the case be that if i did tat, i will still get ABCDEFG#1234 instead?

Hello GabrielSanchez878, I will try to clarify the gamertag issue as much as possible, if you have any questions see the links below and do not hesitate to ask.

Your Microsoft account, whether you sign in with an email from Microsoft or Gmail, when you first connect to an Xbox console will generate an automatic Gamertag, you'll be entitled to a free exchange, but if you choose a Gamertag that already exists, the suffix will appear after the name.

Unfortunately, you can't release a Gamertag from one profile so you can associate with another, or even transfer a Gamertag from one account to another.

Hey there!

I'm sorry to hear about the issues with Beam streaming. Could you clarify what happens when you try to stream? Do you get a specific error message or code? Does your wife's account have the same issue with streaming from Beam?

Take a look at your account settings on your
Beam profile page and make sure that everything looks good there. If you continue to run into issues, you may want to reach out to
Beam Help for some direct assistance. They can take a closer look at your Beam account and see what's up.
