Confirmed gold, but can't use gold features.

So I opted to pay 9.99 for a month of gold via my card through the dashboard prompt today. It said there was a connection error after i confirmed my purchase, and it said to sign up later. Yet I received a conformation email, and through the account settings
in the dashboard it says I'm gold. But its telling me on the home screen to "go gold now", and I can't access any gold features. Apparently, I was billed, but I can't access the service. I tried to "chat" with an agent, but they quit responding. I'm frustrated
and dont have the time or energy to deal with this over the phone tonight. Does anyone know if there's a simple solution for this, or am I going to have to speak with someone on the phone?

Redeeming problem

I know the problem now. My account just says it's free but actually I'm Gold but there are some features of Gold I can't use. I can still play multiplayer in games and watch Youtube or whatever but the 'Games with Gold' Feature is unavailable with Gold Trial.

That's how every console works

Only the home console allows every profile to connect with one membership however as switches mentioned

Only the gold profile can roam to a 2Nd console to use gold features

Any other profile can roam but can't use gold features while not at home console however if that console had a separate home gold they can share it temporarily with that profile but since your 2Nd console isn't a home gold only the gold member can be used
on it with gold

The silver free members can only be used on the home console for gold or a friends home gold console temporarily

They can't use home gold features any other wsy

 

Try testing your connection on the console to see if that fixes anything (that'll resync your account to the servers). You're showing as gold here so you should be good.

If that doesn't work, I would try contacting support again. 1-800-4my-xbox if you're in the US/Canada.
