    Coned NAT


    Ever since I got an Xbox One I have been experiencing connection issues with regards to disconnecting from games and parties. It is saying that my connection is behind a coned NAT and I have tried all of the possible solutions on the connection wizard but
    with no luck.

    Router/modem- Virgin Super hub 2

    Wireless connection

    Single Xbox One assigned to connection.

    OPEN NAT Still can't get a teredo ip adress.

    Ok, I know this is necroing, but I just got the xbox one, had these issues where I was Open Nat, but coned Nat, clearing the alternate MAC fixed it! Just wanted to share.

    Party chat issues

    My problem started a week ago with party chat with my friends when in a party using kinect for microphone my friends can hear me but i cant hear them.

    I have a sagemcom router model number:F@ST2504n

    The system says I have open nat and even did the nat wizard to make sure. It does say in the detailed description that I have open nat but behind a coned nat.



    Any possible assistance greatly appreciated.

    Hi Prodigy. Oddly, the new Xbox Update has changed some terminology - a coned NAT is actually the same as an "Open" NAT, so it sounds like the problem might lie with the wireless connection itself - can you tell us, how far away from your wireless router
    is the Xbox itself? Also, do you have other devices (not necessarily connected to wireless internet) which use a wireless signal, like a cordless phone, cell somewhere near the Xbox, or even remote controls or bluetooth headsets? Depending on the frequencies
    at which these devices connect, it could interfere with the wireless internet connection.

    The wireless router is downstairs below my room which is where the xbox is situated. There are other devices connected such as my phone and iPad but it didn't affect my connection when I had my 360.

    and I can change my Router NAT to

    Full Cone Nat or Restricted Cone NAT

    default is Classical Linux Hybrid NAT.

    I read about that I don´t need UPNP if I have Full Cone NAT. What would be the best NAT type and why? I try to understand these things :)

    OMG lol it worked! When i held in the triggers and bumpers the detailed nat information read: "behind a cone NAT" (or something along those lines.) What does a cone NAT mean???

    I haven’t heard of cone nat before, but signal strength is just what it sounds like, how strong your signal is.

    Ping is basically the time it takes your xbox to reach a server and receive a response. 37ms ping is pretty good, mine usually sits around 70ms and you want nat type to be open. If nat type is strict or moderate you might have trouble connecting to multiplayer
    sessions.

    It could be something in your routers settings. You might want to check out https://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-one/networking/network-ports-used-xbox-live for
    information about port forwarding. Its basically telling your router to always allow traffic on certain lines to access your xbox. It helped a lot when I was having trouble with a strict nat type.
