Condition of replacement controllers

Are the xbox one controllers that microsoft sends as replacements new?

Reason I ask:

I had an Agent tell me tonight(03/27/15) that the controllers they ship as replacements are NEW. I have a hard time believing this, for myself as I've received 2 replacement controllers and they've both been faulty out-the-box. The first replacement had
a left thumbstick problem where it would get caught at the " 2 o'clock" position when rotating either direction and the second has a bad micro usb port(won't charge with microsoft plug and play). Both replacement controllers have/had very loose bumpers. I
just processed the order for a third replacement which I'm hoping after $39+ in shipping and almost 2 months from my initial request will in-fact be a new controller like the Agent confirmed. And I've yet to be offered ANY form of compensation.

P.S.The controller which was functioning flawlessly before would not sync AFTER doing a controller update(in February) and is the reason I'm in this replacement cycle rather than being able to enjoy my xbox one purchase.

The console condition has almost zero scratches.

Controllers won't turn on at all

Could be malfuctioned controllers, I would contact microsoft support about them, if im not mistakened there might be a replacement program for controllers.

I agree I have sent in 6 day one controllers only to be sent out poor quality replacements. The controllers I received had loose joy sticks, loose bumpers, broken triggers, controllers not turning on/disconnecting from console, the list goes on and on, I
now have another controller they sent me that was good and not even a day of moderate use that too is defective. I have a ps4 and am now considering selling my xbox one console for good.

To get it repaired or replaced you will have to send it in to Microsoft. They will not just send another controller to you with out first evaluating the condition of the controller in question.

Hi Kathy A thank you for the reply. My controller was perfect condition as drift stick did not work so could not use it. However dont know how or why they would send me a controller that was firstly very dirty condition and virtually falling apart. The only thing i can think of is that they sent to me in error. There is no way they were sending it to replace my one which was an elite series 2 model.

If I have read your post correctly, the replacement controllers offered under the warranty are standard controller colours and not a Gears5 Limited Edition /Special Edition controller? If this is not correct please accept my apologies and provide more information
to clarify

Unfortunately, it will likely be in the terms and conditions that alternatives could be given if the controller needs replacing. The Gears5 controller is essentially a standard controller with a game design theme, often produced in limited numbers. So alternatives
being provided are not really lower, they just don’t have a theme and are not produced in limited numbers.

XBOX TECH VIRUS

Well the controller will be covered by the maufacturing warranty and if this is the case they will replace the controller.

However wear and tear or accidental damage is not covered, so you will need to replace the controller yourself.

Also can i ask you to try and connect your controller via a cable and test the head set that way as if any of you home devices are making this problem happen, you can re-solve the issue that way.
