Concerns about the reported problems about the Xbox One X Project Scorpio Edition.

I just purchased an Xbox One X Project Scorpio Edition off of Amazon and I'm concerned about the failure rate, heat, fan noise and other problems with Scorpio Xbox One Xs by reading the forums off of Xbox.com and others. I haven't opened up the retail box
yet. Should I return it and get an regular Xbox One X or an 1-2 TB Xbox One S?

A few weeks ago I typed a somewhat angry letter. I was upset because I was misinformed about Project Scorpio. I had read on a reputable website that I would need to buy an X One S to play PS. I'm a very loyal XBOX gamer. I have the day one edition. In hindsight
I apologize for my ignorance. I look forward to Project Scorpio! Sounds exciting! Thank you.

 

I've had mine since day one and haven't had any issues.

 

mines doing fine and it can be on for over 12 hours a day

 

Mine has been fine as well. My xos had many issues vs one reboot with the x.

With my Xbox one s it constantly needed to be rebooted, sometimes even after booting it. The Kinect with the adapter rarely if ever worked and the external hd didn’t show up always either.

On my Xbox one x scorpio edition the only issues was one time the screen dimmed and the pop up didn’t show. After a reboot it has been fine ever since.

 

Have had that issue. There is a definite bug in the OS there.

Other than that all has been fine so far.

 

Have mine since Nov 7 and no issues whatsoever. Mine is one for about 4-5 hours a day. No noise, no issues whatsoever.

 

I have had to send mine off to repair. I was originally hit with constant syncing issues for 3/4 hours. After leaving for the night, I tried using it the next day and it wouldn't go past the troubleshoot page. Apparently a known problem for the XBX consoles
right now from what the person in Microsoft said. But when it did work I never had issues with fan noise or over heating.

 

For those of you reporting issues, how many have the console plugged into a surge protector?

 

Console was plugged straight into the mains on the wall.

 

Bought mine in Russia.

Unboxed it the day after launch.

Running silent and cool all the way.

 

Bought my Scorpio Edition direct from MS and was delivered on release day.

Not had any problems what so ever, doesn`t get excessively warm even when playing 4K games, fan is super quiet, etc.

The only way to really tell the extent of failures is for MS to publish official figures.

 

Piece of crap, bricked it a few times already, cannot use the internal hard disk and when something doesn't launch (quit and retry) I have to reboot pull the power plug and it might work. Plus microsoft have no replacements for the Scorpio and cannot give
a date as to when the could replace. It is absolutely disappointing, I miss my S, it was consistent, never crapped out ever !!

 

The only issue(s) that I have with mine is that it doesn't show updates for my games/apps. The only way I know if I have an update is if I plug in my external hard drive back into my original Xbox One. I find that it is weird that it does that especially
since I have the same settings on both the Scorpio and original Xbox One (meaning its not set to update automatically. The only difference is that I had changed my home console from Xbox One to Xbox One X).Even mentioned it to Support and got no answer from
them about why that was. Was only told to manually go through every game/app to see if there is an update but when you got 110 games and 60 apps, I rather just plug my external hard drive in the original Xbox One for the updates.
