Concerns about my child's privacy after purchasing service from www.zupahmodz.com

Hi. I am looking for support about an outside service I bought for my 13 year old son not realizing they asked him to provide his account password as well as passwords for his email account and security email account.

The outside service is Home - ZupahModz

I purchased one of their modz packs for my 13 year old son as part of his Christmas present. I wasn't aware that they requested his personal information such as his gamertag, his account password, as well as passwords to his email accounts associated to
his Live account and the password for his security account as well.

They also haven't provided the service paid for 80 days ago and they provide zero support for customers.

If I'd known that he would be asked for his personal account information and passwords I would never have bought it for him.

Is there any steps Xbox Live can take to prevent sites like this from operating? It presents a pretty big concern to me that there are outside services that request that type of personal information. Obviously the onus is on me the parent, and I should
have made a point of knowing what types of personal information they'd request.

But if Xbox Live didn't allow such a service to operate then it would never create a risk to a child's privacy in the first place. My son didn't realize what a risk to his privacy disclosing that information is, and after looking at the form he filled out
    recently I've grown very concerned.

Any assistance or support in preventing these types of outside services from being able to access children's accounts would be greatly appreciated.

I'll check for answers to this post, but any additional information can be sent to me at: *** Die E-Mail-Adresse wurde aus Datenschutzgründen entfernt. ***

    Thank you.

    :)

  2. Why is it so hard to renew live gold?

I forgot to mention, you can restrict what the child's account can do (such as purchasing) with parental/online controls:

Won't be renewing next month. Thanks enforcement team!

You as the primary person can change your child's privacy settings to friends only and this will avoid communications from unwanted people and as long as you don't chat with them after you can mute them

I would change all the passwords on your sons account. There's not a lot Microsoft can do about sites like this but be warned, modding of any type is not tolerated on xbox live & will end up with enforcement action taken against you,a account suspension or
    even a permanent ban.

You may want to read the code of conduct & explain this to your son

Help adding money to child account - losing the will to live!!

    Hello!

Thanks for reaching out to us here on the forums with this situation. I understand you're having trouble with completing a purchase from a child account is that correct? Have you tried going into the settings from the parental account and allowing the child
account permission to complete purchases. You can do so by going into your "Settings" and selecting "Account" then "Family" and pick the child's gamertag who's settings you want to adjust. Once there look for "Privacy and Online Safety" under Xbox Live privacy
and you can allow purchases at least for this attempt and then go back and block it after if you'd like. Let us know with a reply how it goes!

    XBOX Game Pass Parental Controls

    Hello UnknitBuzzard21,

Thank you for posting on the Xbox forums. We understand that you are unable to purchase Xbox Game Pass on your son's account due to account restrictions. Is your son playing on an Xbox One or Xbox 360? A child account may have it's ability to
purchase items restricted by a parent account. You must have a parent account and

put the child account in a family. Once the child account has been added to the family, you can go to the

online privacy & online safety settings
with the parent account and allow the child to complete a purchase. After the purchase is completed, you can log back in to the online privacy & online safety settings with the parent account and restrict any purchases
    again. We hope this helps!

What is the best way to setup accounts, purchases, allowing others to play on my console with their account?

If someone signs in with their account information on your console they have access to everything they have purchased its that simple. FYI kids don't accidentally hit buttons and there is a confirmation after choosing to purchase an item. Make sure your
kids are on a "child account" and you can restrict things they can do.

You may want to just remove any persistent payment information; this means youj will have to enter it every time you make a purchase though.

Definition of a Microsoft child account

How a child account is defined

At Microsoft, a child account is defined as any Microsoft account that’s affiliated with an adult Microsoft account when the age of the child or teen is less than the age of majority for his or her country. When this is the case, the child must be linked
to an adult’s Microsoft account in order to participate in the Xbox Live service.

When it comes to managing a child’s privacy and online safety, Xbox One breaks the definition of “children” into three categories:

    • Young child: Anyone under the age of 8
    • Child: Ages 8 through 12
    • Teen: Ages 13 through 17 (or 19 in South Korea).

Child account cannot purchase ANY content even though settings are correct

OK, so upon further research it would seem that I cannot purchase anything from xbox.com using a child account but I can purchase stuff from the Xbox directly. This is really awkward as I am not near the Xbox much and was hoping to be able to purchase content
for my son while away. Guessing this is so a child cannot circumvent the Xbox's set privacy controls but I wish there was an override!
