    Concerning the Elite Controller


    Xbox Elite controller is an excellent controller, but i feel like the LB+RB buttons can use an upgrade.

    I went through 2 elite controller where my LB button just snapped loose.

    I constantly use LB for games that provide the "bumper jumper control scheme"

    If Microsoft ever came to upgrade those buttons like making them metal or not having the LB and RB connected together as one plastic piece, i would be happily to purchase another one.

    Xbox One Slim 500 gig and 1 TB Models coming Aug 23

    Since I just got my 4K HDR tv I am thinking about trading in my Elite console for the S. My only concern is if they will force me to trade in my elite controller with it or how that would work.

    The same thing happened to me. I am on my second elite controller. LB broke on both. Since this is expensive and don’t want to buy a third one, I spent ~$30 at Amazon on a set of tools and replacement bumper (~ $13 for the bumper alone). YouTube has an easy
    to follow video to help replace it myself. It’s a minor inconvenience.

    I got a good few months out of it before the second one broke. I can’t trash the controller because it’s better than the standard model, but I wish the quality of the bumpers could be improved.

    Well you must feel important now. As long as MS doesn't offer a durable controller all the DIY-discussion is mandatory.

    I'm having similar issues and not just once or twice had a broken RB. The quality is crappy to be honest.

    Self repair discussion is not mandatory, and is a violation of the forum rules.

    The controller is not going to repair itself, nor is MS. Some "third party" options become mandatory if one's not willing to spend yet another 100+ bucks for a new controller.

    On the other hand gaming or even having a console is not mandatory so in that sense you are correct.

    If only things would be so simple, just follow the rules and everything will be fine...
