Computer Processor not up to date or not compatible [IMG]
I was trying to run roblox as I usually do but it pops up with a unexpected error occured and then prompts me to make a memory dump. After trying to reinstall it through the microsoft store, it says "this product isn't compatible with your PC's processor" which I found wierd because I was using roblox just fine yesterday and ever since i got the computer. My CPU is Snapdragon X Plus X1P42100. I was wondering if I could change the compatibility and maybe that would fix the issue.

    Hello Dear User

    Welcome to the Microsoft Community.

I understand that you are having trouble on can't play Roblox in your computer, and I understand your confusion.

According to your description, you are experiencing an incompatibility problem after reinstalling this game, you can try the following methods to fix this problem:

    Try Compatibility Mode

Windows offers a compatibility mode that allows you to run apps that were designed for older versions of Windows, or different system architectures. Here's how you can enable it:

    1. Right-click on the Roblox shortcut or executable file (typically found in the Microsoft Store’s local installation folder).
    1. Click Properties.
    1. Under the Compatibility tab, check the box labeled Run this program in compatibility mode for.
    1. Choose a previous version of Windows, such as Windows 7 or Windows 8.
    1. Click Apply and then OK.

Since you're using a Snapdragon processor, you might need to ensure that the version of Roblox you're running is specifically built for ARM architecture. The standard Windows version of Roblox may not work well on ARM devices, and it’s possible that Roblox hasn't fully optimized its app for ARM yet.

    Try this:

    • Use the Roblox App for ARM devices if available on the Microsoft Store. Roblox has been making strides to support ARM-based systems, but if the app version you installed was not the ARM version, it could cause compatibility issues.

Reinstall Roblox from an Official Source

Sometimes issues with compatibility happen if the installation is corrupted. Since you tried reinstalling via the Microsoft Store and encountered a compatibility message, you might want to try the following steps:

    1. Completely uninstall Roblox.
    1. Restart your PC.
    1. Download the latest version of Roblox from the official Roblox website.
    1. Install the game again.

Please try the above and let me know the results so that I can assist you further.

    Best Regards.

Does Intel Core i5-7600K work with Optiplex 3020

    Hi,

No, unfortunately it's not. The the i3-4160 is a 4th Generation Intel i3 processor. The i7 7600K is a 7th Gen processor. The CPU socket isn't compatible.

Realistically, the only upgrade path is something like an i7 4770K. There are some issues though. These processors in computing/gaming terms are pretty old. The 4th Gen Intel Core processors date back to 2014 and they won't hold up to well to modern games. Assuming you also have a dedicated graphics card.

Also, and quite importantly, the 4th gen i7 needs more power than the i3 processor. Knowing OEM PC builds, they generally only provide a Power supply with enough power to run the original specification. There may not be enough wattage in your PSU to even run an i7 4770K and everything else as well.

Considering how old that machine is, it would work out cheaper to buy a new PC.

    MS FS2020

Well, by your computer hardware, I would say the processor is not that good but it can run some games - it is pretty much the minimum recommended processor for MSFS 2020. The RAM supported by the processor and the motherboard is only DDR3, which is not that good - DDR4 or 5 are way better. If you would want to use better processors and RAMs you would need to upgrade the motherboard too.

You can upgrade the computer by changing the processor to a Xeon E3-1290 v2 which is around 15-20% faster. I'm not sure about its price.

You can also purchase a graphic card like a GTX 1660 but I'm not sure if the processor would keep up with it. It costs around $250.

But in my opinon, for the next years you should purchase a new computer, with a motherboard that supports the next-gen Intel or AMD processors, that can run DDR4 or DDR5 RAMs and that is compatible with PCI Express 4.0. You can only go so far with a motherboard that runs only DDR3 RAM and with a LGA 1155 CPU socket.

    Multiplayer games cause lag/freezing.

    Thank you for the reply

I tried checking my internet connection, but it is fine and I have also tried making sure my computer is up to date, as well as completely resetting my computer entirely but none of it has worked, and games still end up freezing constantly.
