    Hello everyone Component Cables for the Original Xbox :)

    A friend of mine (who no longer has an Original Xbox console) had a 3rd party compeonent cable that he wasn't using anymore. It was attached to a 20 something inch 720p HDTV.

    Being as gentle as possible, it was taking a lot of effort to try to not mess up the component cable and HDTV.

    From my perspective, it looked liked he was going to rip the HDTV component socket out of the HDTV along with the cable itself.

    He then stopped and then just handed me the entire thing (HDTV with component cables stuck on it). The TV was a no name brand.

    I said " are you sure? "

    He responded " its cool, don't worry about it "

    I said " at least let me pay for them "

    He responded " don't worry about it, you can have them for free "

    I said " Thank you Component Cables for the Original Xbox :) "

    He responded " You're welcome "

    ..........

    Now, I need to find some place to set it up Component Cables for the Original Xbox :)

    I noticed that the screen size seems to be a bit odd though. The actual screen size is 20 inches, but including the frame size it is 22 inches.

    It's 720p on a no name tv with a black border? Change it 1080i and it should fill the screen. Or on the actual tv settings change it from "to set" or "Just scan" to 16:9, this should also work.

    Sorry for being unclear, the screen display isn't what I was talking about. I was refering to the fact that I've never seen a 20 inch HDTV before.

    It was always a 19 inch HDTV and I was surprised that there was an extra inch on this one.

    Well I'd never buy a multi console audio/viusal cable, they are always bad and the wires will always cross. 3rd party specific for the xb is fine, I modded enough early consoles for component and vga to not bother with optical audio. Honestly, I just wouldn't
    bother spending allot of money on cables, it's such as scam.

    Yes analogue signals can degrade which decreases the signal quality and a better quality cable can reduce that, but the difference will be so minimal in this instance I would still suggest a cheap cable.

    The quality loss is also based on how long the cable is so if you were to be running over 50ft of cable then yeah I'd probably suggest a higher quality, but again that's not the case here.

    Though we're not even talking about a great difference in price anyway, but I personally would still go for the cheaper option, especially if you're only using the TV speakers where I don't think optical audio is going to be that great a benefit.

    It's not just an component cable it has an optical audio port on the official Microsoft cable the cheap ones do not have the port but I already said that...

    There is also a big difference in the quality of the cable. Again like I said this is not an HDMI digital signal where it either works or it doesn't it's analog signal and quality can make a difference.

    The cheap generic component cables for the original XBOX are garbage that's why people search for the official ones.
