    So, this is a long one...

    Earlier today, I tried to start Minecraft, but the download got stuck at 40%. I restarted the console, but the problem was not fixed. After some considering, another two restarts, and a dive through Xbox Assist forums, I decided uninstalling and reinstalling was the best way to solve the issue. Things were going smoothly when I reinstalled, all 500MB of Minecraft save data intact, until the installation process, which suddenly started jumping from 7-30MB per second to 100-200MB per second, hit 95%. The download froze. 5% away. From finising. I tried to cancel the install, but it simply refused to. The Xbox started meeting random freezes and things continued to get more complicated. I went to my good ol' buddy, the Restart Button, which usually solves things like this, but the restart actually froze before beginning, so I had to unplug the power cord in order to force a restart. I had the same scenario occur numerous more times afterwards, so I went to Xbox Assist forums, Edge, and even a virtual agent, but none had an answer. More bugs, freezes and still menus occurred every time Minecraft was in the Queue, and I once even had to fully shutdown to get it to stop.

    I love to play Minecraft on my worlds, and I really want to keep them, as my younger sister loves to play with me, so if at least one person out there knows what to do (In a save-data friendly way, please), I'm begging you to help. To get it all there, I'll list what I have so far done:

    I have...

    1. Powered the Console on and off again

    2. Restarted the Console

    3. Shutdown the Console

    4. Felt hopeless

    5. Canceled the Install

    6. Unplugged the Console

    7. Checked with a virtual agent

    8. Looked into Xbox Assist forums

    9. Prayed to the Xbox Ambassadors for help with this very forum.

    Hey Thanks for the update mind performing a factory reset but keep the games and apps installed to the console. It's a complicated issue because not many reported issues similar to this.

    I have already tried this, as well as a complete reformat, this is issue is so persistent, that its the same issue on the phone app and xbox.com - so i think that its safe to assume thats its not the console itself, but thanks anyways. :)

    Try performing a hard reset EXACTLY like this. Sometimes it will help.

    Hold the power button on the console for 8 seconds or until the power shuts down completely. Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes. Plug the power cord back in and restart the console.
