Completed the refer a friend for smite but never got rewarded

last week i introduced a friend to smite and did the in game refer a friend. when i was browsing mymissions i noticed their was one for doing what i did, but i never ended up getting the better with friends bundle. i contacted xbox support via chat and they
gave me this reference number: 1387544076.

Can't refer friends to Gold.

I see the pop up on my dashboard all the time saying "Refer friends, get rewarded." and when I look at the details, it basically says "if you have Gold, refer friends who don't to Gold and get rewarded."

But why am I not eligible to refer friends when I try? I have two friends that desperately need Gold and I'd like to be rewarded for referring them, kinda like DirecTV.

Is there anything I should know about referring my friends?

There are several eligibility requirements you must meet in order to earn Rewards for referring your friends, or for being referred by one of your friends.

To refer friends, you have to be an Xbox Live Rewards member and have Xbox Live friends who meet the eligibility requirements.
If you've been referred by your Xbox Live friend, you'll only receive your Reward if you successfully complete the offer by completing the required action within the set time period. You must also meet other eligibility requirements, like being older than
13 years of age and living in an eligible region.

While members can refer and receive Rewards for referring any of their eligible Xbox Live friends, if you are not a member and want to receive your Reward, you must join Xbox Live Rewards FIRST here.

Since you were referred on the 19th, you completed this offer and your friend was assigned their token for 1000 rubies. However, since you were not a Rewards member, you did not get a token. Only Rewards members can receive Rewards.

So, there is absolutely no form of compensation you can do? Even though I did join the Rewards program within those 48 hours.

Since you are a Canadian Rewards member, the SMITE refer a friend offer from FREEdom Rewards is not eligible for your region. From the FAQ:

—Who is eligible for this offer?

This offer is open to select Xbox Live Rewards members who are residents of Belgium, Brazil, Hong Kong, Taiwan, France, Germany, Ireland, Japan, Mexico, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, the United Kingdom or the 50 United States (including
District of Columbia) who are 13 years of age or older, and residents of Norway who are 18 or older. You can read more about eligibility requirements for referring your friends in the next question.
